Outwardly, this 1963 Chevrolet Nova Chevy II is every inch an
unembellished, well-preserved classic. From front to back, it shows
consistent body panel alignment, with doors that open and close
with no issue and a collection of proper badging that's in clean
shape. It also wears a nice coat of blue paint that instantly
recalls the Azure Aqua color Chevy offered the year it rolled out.
But beneath its sheet metal, this vintage cruiser harbors an
assortment of mechanical and aesthetic upgrades that make for a
more refined driving experience and create a singular look beneath
the hood. That's a great combination.
The blue vinyl interior has been kept in largely factory
configuration and is in consistently good shape, with a pair of
fresh-looking front bucket seats that show only minimal wear and an
expanse of unblemished carpeting below. An added tilting chrome
steering column with matching levers, along with an aftermarket
floor shifter, adds some visual flair, and just beyond it, the dash
area is looking strong, with a set of Dakota Digital gauges in the
instrument cluster and a Chevrolet-branded, retro-look AM/FM stereo
at its center that teams with a trunk-mounted subwoofer and
amplifier to provide an outstanding audio experience.
This class ride is powered by a 350-cubic-inch V8 that's in top
form. It's fed by a Holley four-barrel carburetor that sits on top
of an aluminum intake manifold by the same manufacturer and is
bracketed by a pair of custom steel fabricated inner fender wells
that complement it perfectly. There are plenty of upgraded and
polished components on board for additional eye candy. The engine
pairs with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission and exhales into
a dual exhaust that terminates in a pair of Cherry Bomb mufflers
that create an aggressive, throaty sound befitting an iconic muscle
car like this. With a Mustang II coilover suspension in front and a
combination leaf spring and coilover suspension in back, this Nova
features precise rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes and a
smooth, adjustable ride as it cruises on its set of 15" black
painted steel wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials that
still show plenty of tread.
