2012 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class in Amelia Island, Florida
First renowned for advanced performance modifications of Mercedes
models, AMG became the official high-performance subsidiary of
Mercedes-Benz AG in 2005, unveiling its first fully in-house
project in September 2009: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
Its design was inspired by the legendary 1954 300 SL, with a long
hood pushing the cabin near the rear axle, iconic gullwing doors,
and signature side vents. The aviation-inspired interior features
aluminum air vents, an AMG Performance steering wheel, AMG Drive
Unit, and its E-Select gear lever is reminiscent of a control
stick. Everything was engineered for lightness: aluminum body,
forged wheels, and extensive optional carbon fiber.
Under the hood: a 6.2-liter V8 is paired with a seven-speed
Speedshift sports transmission, producing no less than 563
horsepower, accelerating from zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds, and
reaching a top speed of 197 mph.
Delivered new through Mercedes-Benz of San Juan, Texas in January
2012 to its first owner, in the striking color combination of
Obsidian Black Metallic with a red and black leather interior, this
SLS AMG features the 19- and 20-inch AMG forged wheels that suit it
perfectly, along with red brake calipers for an even more sporting
appearance, matching with the interior. Among its extensive list of
standard features and optional equipment for this exceptional model
are the memory package (driver's seat, steering column, mirrors)
and the AMG Performance steering wheel.
Offered with manufacturer's literature and a clean CARFAX Vehicle
History Report documenting meticulous and highly consistent
maintenance, performed primarily at Mercedes-Benz of San Juan and
Mercedes-Benz of Escondido, California, including the most recent
service carried out at 6,864 miles in December 2025.
An iconic model that stands as a milestone in the history of both
Mercedes-Benz and AMG, this highly desirable example, with
exceptionally low mileage and a striking color combination, offers
a rare chance to own a modern classic.
