Developed alongside the closed F430 berlinetta, the F430 Spider
debuted in 2005 embodying many of the same Formula One-derived
technologies while adding an open-air element to the line. Its
electrically operated folding soft top added just 154 pounds,
costing only a tenth of a second in the zero-to-62 mph sprint (from
4.0 to 4.1 seconds) and reducing top speed by a mere three mph
compared to the coupe (from 196 to 193 mph). Though it shared the
berlinetta's razor-sharp performance focus, Ferrari positioned the
Spider as a more relaxed grand-touring alternative.
This was evidenced by the model's press tour, when Ferrari guided
journalists through Italy's cultural heartland. Beyond the
unobstructed vistas of Italy's historic landscapes, Road & Track's
Paul Frere observed that "hearing the wail from the Spider's
483-bhp engine on full throttle was just as exhilarating as feeling
the wind rushing by the cockpit," perfectly capturing the Spider's
unique fusion of speed, sound, and grand touring style.
Finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige Tradizione leather with a black
convertible soft top, this Ferrari F430 Spider features
power-adjustable bucket seats, a factory stereo, and carbon-fiber
interior trim. Originally delivered with the F1 transmission, it
was converted in 2023 by European Auto Group of Round Rock, Texas,
to the highly desirable six-speed manual, restoring a greater sense
of control and driver engagement. The aluminum alloy gated shifter
provides a richly multisensory experience: the sound of the V8
during downshifts and acceleration, the iconic click-clack of each
gear change, and subtle engine braking when lifting off the
throttle, all combining to deliver an authentic and intense Italian
driving experience.
Showing just 11,000 miles, the car comes with its CARFAX Vehicle
History Report and a history of regular maintenance and service. It
was subject to a manufacturer recall involving replacement of the
brake fluid reservoir, with the brake fluid also replaced in 2022.
Around 10,000 miles, ceramic-coated performance headers were
installed, and additional work included replacing the engine
mounts, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, cam variator actuator
solenoids, the clutch assembly, thrust bearing, transaxle mounts,
and exhaust brackets.
This low-mileage F430 Spider, featuring the highly desirable
six-speed manual transmission, represents a rare opportunity to own
an open-top sports car infused with early-2000s Formula One
technology.
