Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 27th year in the
classic and muscle car business. The Mercury Cougar was that
division's response to the overwhelming success of the Ford
Mustang. As a sister division, Mercury chose to move upmarket from
the Mustang with features like a 3 longer wheelbase for a more
comfortable ride and the availability of even more options.
Generally adored for their styling, Cougars proved to be very
popular with women as well as men, securing their place in American
car culture. This striking Competition Orange (1) 1970 Mercury
Cougar is an excellent example of these stylish felines. Lift the
scooped hood and you'll see the smooth 351 V8 that's been fortified
with an Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum intake manifold as well
as a set of headers. Additional features include power steering,
power front disc brakes, power windows, power top, factory air
conditioning, automatic transmission, bulletproof Ford 9 rear end
with 3.00 gears, console, AM/FM stereo, correct paint and trim
codes (1, EA), front and rear spoilers, and B.F.G. Radial T/A's
(235/60R15 F, 255/60R15 R) wrapped around classic Magnum 500's. All
options except spoilers and wheels were factory installed. You want
to talk about fun, try cruising around, top down, on a sunny day.
This beauty gets more attention than Lady Godiva! She's also one of
only 37 Competition Orange/White Clarion Cougars produced in 1970,
according to the included Deluxe Marti Report. One more
hard-to-find classic from the Texas Hill Country's premier source
for classic cars and the team that can make your dream a reality.
