For Sale: 1957 Ford Fairlane in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

INTRODUCTION: This beautiful '57 Ford has undergone a body-off-frame restoration and is loaded with desirable options. From its dual-quad V8 and air conditioning to the classic spotlights and continental kit, it delivers both performance and unmistakable 1950s flair. It's a standout example!

It's an older restoration that has been well preserved and recently serviced. It's only had 5,600 sunny day miles since it was completed.

EXTERIOR: Fabulous and flashy, this fine '57 is loaded with classic accessories! Up front it features V-bar bumper guards, on the sides it has stone shields, rocker moldings, and fender skirts, up on top it has dual spotlights, a trunk-mounted antenna, and a continental with stainless exhaust tips out back. The body is in excellent condition-the large gloss Raven Black side panels are arrow straight with no rust or damage, while the Flame Red upper surfaces shine just as brilliantly. This striking two-tone combination makes the car an absolute knockout.

At the time of restoration, the chrome and trim were replaced or refinished, and the spotlights are original pieces that add authentic character. The power convertible top frame was repainted, weatherstrips were replaced and it was upgraded with a rich black canvas convertible top. It rides on radial whitewall tires paired with correct hubcaps, giving it the proper stance while maintaining a smooth, road-friendly feel.

INTERIOR: It has been beautifully restored to its original vintage charm while offering more features than you'd typically expect on a '57 Ford. At the base of the windshield are the rare factory air conditioning vents, complemented by the optional padded dash. It retains a Town & Country original radio, cleverly updated with modern internals.

The three-speed manual shifter reflects the hot-rodding style of the era, and this car is even equipped with a working overdrive for relaxed, friendly cruising. Power window and power seat switches are all fully functional, and the upholstery and door panels were carefully replaced during restoration, completing a cabin that's both authentic and enjoyable.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There is a lot more to offer in here than you might expect! At its heart is the 312 Thunderbird Special V8, upgraded with a factory aluminum intake and dual-quad carburetors, complete with the correct air cleaner and fuel filter. The motor is dressed with finned aluminum valve covers.

It also features rare factory air conditioning, power steering, and an upgraded power brake system with a safer dual-reservoir master cylinder. Every component is clean, properly fitted, and shows the attention of a thorough restoration.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The continental kit spare tire easily swings out of the way, revealing the main trunk area, which houses a second full-size spare tire along with the jack assembly. The metal surfaces are clean and freshly painted, and the well liner has been properly replaced. Completing the look is the original-style plaid trunk mat, giving the compartment a tidy, period-correct finish.

UNDERSIDE: At the time of restoration the body was removed from the frame, with the suspension and steering completely rebuilt. The brakes were gone through, and the front has been upgraded with disc brakes for improved stopping power. Dual exhaust flows through the optional and unique tips, and the fuel system has been replaced too.

Looking up at the motor, everything is clean and properly detailed. The three-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive has been fully rebuilt, and out back sits a 3.70 Posi rear end, completing the high-performance package this car delivers. The floors are so clean they were painted gloss black, and look as if they've been waxed!

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: In 1957, the Ford even outsold the Chevy-but this example takes the appeal to another level. Its striking two-tone colors and period-correct accessories make it a standout. The drivability exceeds expectations with a unique combination of rare luxury touches and impressive high performance features. Picture it on the road today, surrounded by modern "jellybean" cars-it doesn't just stand out, it commands attention!
