Classic pickups have always had a following but in recent years the
trucks of the 60's, 70's, and 80's have really grown in popularity.
Fords have their fans but the Chevy C10s have really been the
focus. The C10 was introduced in 1960 and included both the "Action
Line" series and the "Rounded Line (Square Body)" series. This cool
'68 belongs to the 2nd generation and the "C" in C10 denotes it as
a 2 wheel drive model. A lot of the mechanical components for this
gen was carried over from the previous but the bodies were largely
redesigned to improve their capability of being multi purpose
vehicles. Then in 1971 they underwent a mid cycle revision where
they received a new front end that incorporated the eggcrate grill
design. This 1972 was the final year for this generation and this
one has been fully redone in a more pro touring restomod style. It
has a ton to offer mechanically on top of the already gorgeous
exterior. The body is all very straight, very solid, and all rust
free. It is painted in a beautiful Red and White combination that
looks great. The original style trim has been shaved off which is a
subtle modification but gives it a much more sleek look. The glass
throughout is all damage free and has been tinted. The front and
rear bumpers are nicely chromed and the grill/front end stainless
all looks great. Chrome mirrors are in place on both sides as well
as chrome windshield wiper arms. The truck sits on a set of new 20
inch US Mag wheels with Nitto (255/45ZR20) tires and has an awesome
stance.
If the exterior wasn't impressive enough just wait until you see
the drive train. This pickup is now powered by a 396 Blueprint
crate motor the puts out an impressive 511HP on the dyno (sheets
available on request). It is fitted with Black Chevrolet valve
covers, a custom pinstriped Black Chevrolet air cleaner, serpentine
belt system, Hedman headers, and a Holly Sniper EFI set up. To
match the air cleaner two tone Red and White pinstriping was also
painted onto the Black inner fenders. The motor is kept running
cool with a Afco aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. It has 4
wheel Wilwood disc brakes with a power brake booster, power
steering and modern air conditioning making it a classic you can
comfortably cruise around in anywhere. Mated to the motor is a
700R4 automatic transmission that transfers power back to the 12
bolt rear end with chrome differential cover. The gas tank is out
of a Blazer and has been relocated so you now fill it through the
drivers side wheel well in the bed which also has a nice bed liner.
All of the work has been done professionally so you can rest
assured it was done right.
The interior is all custom and done in a very nice Red leather with
Beige plaid style inserts. That pattern can also be found on the
custom door panels and custom headliner for a very unique cohesive
look. The bench seat is comfortable and feature after market
retractable lap belts. The dash is painted in a nice gloss Red with
a beige dash pad. This is then accented by a custom wood grain
glove box and wood grain gauge bezel. In that bezel is after market
White face gauges that look great. A Red tilt column has been added
and on top of that is a custom 3 spoke steering wheel that has also
been painted Red. It has a custom stereo system with a Kenwood
AM/FM/CD/USB/Aux head unit with custom door panel speakers and a
hidden speaker box that is behind the seat. Pictured on the seat
you will note the control center to adjust the Sniper EFI
system.
This extremely well built truck has a lot to offer and these don't
show any sign of slowing in popularity. It is being offered up at a
great price so act now before it is gone!
