According to its Porsche Belgium (D'Ieteren) Certificate of
Authenticity, this Rest of World 1975 911 Carrera Coupe was
completed in Light Yellow over a leatherette interior. The CoA
further identifies the interior code as '14' which Ryan Snodgrass'
seminal Carrera 2.7 decodes as Blue/Black Midnight with Dark Blue
Shetland seat inserts. Additional options ordered when new included
a limited slip differential, 7- and 8 x 15-inch Black-centered
forged Fuchs wheels, rear window wiper, Bilstein shock absorbers,
and tinted windows among others. The car was completed in April
1975 and sold through Porsche Raffay in Hamburg, Germany.
During its time in Belgium the Carrera was issued a Certificate of
Authenticity from the official Porsche importer D'Ieteren. By the
late 2010s, the car was brought to SportClasse for a full and
comprehensive restoration in its original shade of Light Yellow.
Images from the photo-documented restoration show the car was
stripped to a bare shell with fresh paint, a newly trimmed interior
in black, with care and attention to the details that make these
MFI Carreras so special. The restoration was completed by early
2021 and brought to the United States in 2022.
In 2024, Autosport Designs of Huntington Station, New York
conducted a full rebuild of the air-cooled flat-six. The seven-page
invoice, on file and available for review, reveals the rebuild
included $40,000 in new engine parts alone with a new crankshaft,
2.7-liter pistons and cylinders, connecting rods, engine oil
cooler, camshafts, and more. Furthermore, the engine case received
a rebuild as did the Bosch mechanical injection pump, and a valve
job to the heads. The impressive dedication to the car by Autosport
totaled $83,000 when completed in April 2025.
Over 50 years from production, these mechanically fuel-injected
Carreras remain a rare sight in the United States. With a fresh
photo-documented restoration in its original shade of Light Yellow
and a complete engine rebuild by Autosport Designs, this example is
well documented by its Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity
and offered with a Porsche Classic toolkit.
