The 1929 Mercedes-Benz Gazelle Custom Roadster is a striking
recreation of one of the most revered sports cars of the prewar
era: the legendary Mercedes-Benz SSK. Finished in two-tone green
with matching pinstriping and deep tan leather upholstery, this
beautifully executed replica captures the style and grandeur of the
original while offering modern reliability and ease of use. With
just 8,279 kilometers indicated, this Gazelle presents in very good
condition and is ideal for vintage car enthusiasts seeking the
aesthetic and spirit of 1930s motoring without the upkeep or
exclusivity of an original. Built using the CMC Gazelle kit
produced by Fiberfab International in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this
example, is titled as a "1929 Mercedes-Benz Specon". The Gazelle
kit was among the most respected and proportionally accurate
SSK-inspired builds, designed to combine the timeless elegance of
the original with dependable modern mechanicals. This example
benefits from careful assembly and long-term preservation, offering
the next owner a well-sorted, usable example of a period-style
touring car. The exterior of this Mercedes-Benz Gazelle is finished
in a handsome two-tone green scheme with dark green fenders,
flowing body lines, and tasteful pinstriping. The faux side
exhaust, chrome grille with period badges, and yellow fog lamps
provide a convincing vintage presence. Additional details such as
dual trumpet horns, a rear-mounted spare wire wheel with
color-matched cover, and a chrome luggage rack underscore its
classic touring character. The convertible soft top operates
smoothly, and the included green tonneau cover offers added
protection when stored. Minor signs of age are consistent with use,
and the brightwork presents well throughout. The interior is
finished in tan leather with creasing that reflects use and
features wood-rimmed steering wheel, reproduction wood veneer dash,
and chrome-trimmed gauges. The dash includes a working radio and
air conditioning; a feature rarely found in period-style
recreations. This Gazelle has a cockpit that is both comfortable
and visually engaging for an ideal balance of nostalgia and
usability. Power comes from a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder GM engine
paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The light curb weight
and straightforward mechanical layout make the Gazelle enjoyable to
drive and easy to maintain. Underneath, the Fiberfab chassis is
known for its durability and ease of service, and reliable
operation. The result is a distinctive roadster that captures the
romance of the prewar era while remaining accessible to drive and
own. This example completed an inspection and tune up in November
2025 and is offered with a clean AZ title. For more information and
