This 1968 Ford Ranchero is a well-sorted example of Ford's iconic
car-truck hybrid, finished in an attractive green exterior that
complements its classic lines. It presents as an honest,
driver-focused Ranchero that has benefited from extensive recent
mechanical refreshing and thoughtful upgrades, making it ready to
be enjoyed immediately.
The drivetrain has been gone through in detail, with the engine
removed and freshened up less than 10,000 miles ago. The
transmission was serviced at the same time, and the rear end has
also been refreshed with the addition of a new limited-slip unit,
improving traction and overall drivability. The car runs
excellently and is in strong mechanical condition.
Under the hood, the engine bay features an Edelbrock air cleaner
and matching valve covers, new coil wires, an MSD ignition system,
and an aluminum radiator paired with an electric cooling fan for
improved cooling and reliability. The air conditioning compressor
is present in the engine bay but is currently not hooked up. Power
steering is in place, and a new Wilwood master cylinder has been
installed to enhance braking performance. A new fuel tank and a new
dual exhaust system have also been added as part of the recent
updates.
Inside, the cabin maintains a classic look with a brown leather
bench seat that shows some expected wear consistent with age. A GT
Grant steering wheel and B&M shifter add a sporty,
driver-focused feel, while a new Dakota Digital dash provides
modern reliability without sacrificing vintage style. The
suspension is in great working condition, and new brakes have been
installed front and rear to ensure confident stopping power.
Additional attention was given to the underside while the engine
and transmission were out, as it was pressure washed and cleaned at
that time. The Ranchero rides on new tires and is equipped with a
tonneau-style bed cover with hydraulic cylinders, adding both
practicality and visual appeal. Overall, this 1968 Ford Ranchero is
an excellent-running, thoughtfully updated classic that blends
vintage character with meaningful mechanical upgrades-ideal for
someone looking for a turn-key driver with personality and
usability.
