1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe G-Body
52K, Well Maintained
1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe for sale. This clean, low-mileage example left the factory finished in Guards Red over black. It is accompanied by a clean Carfax report, detailed service records, written notes by its previous long-term owner, its original owner’s manual, factory tool kit, jack, and spare. With just 52k original miles and a clear pattern of consistent servicing throughout its life, this is an exceptionally tidy and well-kept G-body.
The well-maintained 3.0L 930/16 starts easily, settles into a smooth idle, and pulls strongly through the rev range. The 915 gearbox shifts cleanly through all gears, and the car feels tight, composed, and properly sorted on the road. Long-term prior ownership reflects steady care, and since relocating to California in 2021, it has been professionally maintained by Marin European Auto Service. Recent work includes a 5,000-mile service in April 2023, a comprehensive major service in April 2024 with valve adjustment and full tune-up, followed by regular oil services and safety inspections, most recently completed just 550 miles ago. The car has clearly been maintained proactively and presents as a confidence-inspiring 911 with no known current needs.
The exterior presents very well overall. The car was repainted under prior ownership in its original Guards Red, with the work appearing properly executed. Paint quality is consistent and carries a nice gloss throughout. We do note that the finish on one front fender appears slightly different in tone under certain lighting, suggesting it may have been refinished separately at some point. There are no accidents or damage reported on the Carfax, and close inspection of inner panels, trunk structure, mounting points, and surrounding areas shows no signs of structural repair or prior impact. If refinished, it appears to have been cosmetic in nature and professionally addressed. Trim, glass, and rubber are clean and well fitted. The Fuchs wheels are in good condition and fitted with Continental ExtremeContact tires—225/50ZR16 at the rear (2015) and 205/55ZR16 up front (2017)—showing even wear and strong remaining tread.
Inside, the cockpit is remarkably clean and well preserved. Door panels, dash, carpets, and switchgear all present nicely, and everything functions as intended. The gauges are crisp and clear, the sunroof and lighting operate properly, and the air conditioning blows cool air in the low 60s. The original Blaupunkt stereo remains in place and operational. The only notable cosmetic weakness is some hardened leather on the seat bottoms, which would benefit from conditioning and minor restitching to retain originality, or eventual replacement if desired. Otherwise, it remains a very honest, well-preserved interior that retains its factory character — even its unmistakable period-correct scent.
This is a very tidy, well-maintained example with extremely low mileage, finished in an iconic color that should continue not only to hold its value but to increase as these cars become more scarce. Be sure to check out all 300+ photos and the video at www.leftcoastclassics.com
