INTRODUCTION: Amazing factory colors! Body off frame restored! Very
desirable set of features from the 350hp motor and 4-speed to the
air conditioning, power steering and brakes. The cowl tag not only
verifies the colors but also proves it was born a 4-speed!
EXTERIOR: This is a great looking car! Factory code AA Tuxedo Black
without a vinyl top! I also like that they refrained from making it
an SS clone, it's a Malibu. Let me tell you that the body is laser
beam straight, it's clean and smooth from the rockers to the roof.
The panels fit very nicely, doors shut like new. The black paint is
literally a mirror, you can read the phone book in the reflection.
It appears that all or most of the chrome and trim was replaced at
the time of restoration. It has the cross flag emblems on the
fenders and correct antenna. The windshield and weatherstrips were
replaced. It's rolling on a set of mag style hubcaps with BFG
radial redline tires wrapped around them.
INTERIOR: Wow, the factory code 747 medium red interior pops! He
had a reproduction interior installed including door panels, seat
upholstery and carpet. The dash is all restored: instrument bezels,
dash pad, heater control panel and a deluxe steering wheel. Inside
the glovebox is new with the manuals. It has a factory AM/FM with
factory kick panel speakers. Down on the floor it has original red
seat belts, red floor mats and best of all the correct 4-speed
shifter! The headliner, visors and mirror were replaced although
there are 2 holes.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There's lots of good stuff under here including
power steering, power brakes and a modern air conditioning system!
At the heart of it is a period correct, spunky 327 making 350
horsepower. This includes double hump heads, factory aluminum
intake, rebuilt carb, open element air cleaner and chrome valve
covers. It's detailed right down to the stickers, fuel filter,
assembly line markings, battery topper and correct hose clamps.
Everything looks clean and proper. Complete with horns, hood
insulation and the washers are hooked up.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is clean and complete! Under the trunk lid
and the jambs are painted gloss black. Inside is clean metal with a
neat spatter finish. The sticker, weatherstrip and mat have been
replaced. The spare and jack assembly is all there and
detailed.
UNDERSIDE: It was body off frame restored and it is detailed to
factory new condition. The steering and suspension was rebuilt,
upgraded with Gas A Just shocks. It has the correct dual exhaust
system and the fuel system was replaced including the tank. The
brake system was gone through and has a new e-brake assembly.
Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange with a correct
starter and canister type oil filter. The correct Muncie 4-speed
transmission has a rebuilt shift linkage. The restored driveshaft
even has assembly line markings and it goes back to the 10 bolt
rear end with a 3.08 posi gears. The floors appear to be immaculate
smooth metal painted semi-gloss black.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: They don't all need to be Super Sports! This Malibu
stands tall on its own with these features and colors! Restored
beautifully.
