If you needed proof that the classic Ford Bronco has officially leveled up from just a cool classic vehicle to a blue-chip collectible, just pay attention to recent collector car auctions. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 20 years, you already know that first-generation Ford Broncos (1966-1977) have been red-hot for a while now, but recent record-breaking sales show just how strong the Bronco market really is. The first-generation Bronco is considered one of the first SUVs ever built, and was the first compact SUV for the Ford brand. The idea was to get the short, compact build of a car w/ a more truck-like suspension & design. The goal was to create a utilitarian, stripped-down vehicle ready for adventure, and they succeeded in every way. Of all Bronco generations, the first-generation is by far the most popular among collectors, which has driven values to nearly double between 2016 and 2020.
