Up for sale at Classics & Beyond Auto Gallery is this gorgeous 1974
Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 was acquired by
the seller in 2018 and subsequently underwent a comprehensive
refurbishment and performance-focused modification by BradCo
Restorations of Warren, Michigan, between 2019 and 2022. The
project included a bare-metal repaint, interior refresh, drivetrain
rebuilds, and the installation of modern engine management,
resulting in a thoughtfully upgraded example that blends classic
Alfa character with contemporary drivability.
Originally finished in Verde Muschio Chiaro, the car was stripped
to bare metal, mounted on a rotisserie, and repainted in a
1990s-era shade of Verde Bosco Metallic following completion of
metal repairs to the lower fenders, rear panel and valance, and
rear window surround. Exterior updates include the installation of
round Euro-spec front side markers, deletion of the rear side
markers, and relocation of the rear license plate lamps to the
bumper. The car rides on 14? FPS alloy wheels wrapped in 195/65
Vredestein Sportrac tires.
The suspension retains its factory independent double-wishbone
front setup with an anti-roll bar and a live rear axle with
trailing arms and a reaction trunnion, while lowering springs were
added during the refurbishment. Power-assisted disc brakes are
fitted at all four corners.
The interior features front bucket seats upholstered in black
leather, with replacement door panels installed in 2022. A
Blaupunkt AM radio with auxiliary input is fitted, along with a
heater. Instrumentation includes a tachometer with inset oil
pressure gauge, a 140-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level
and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows
approximately 11k miles, about 2k of which were added under current
ownership; true mileage is unknown. An aftermarket steering wheel
is installed, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel is included with the
car.
Power comes from a replacement 1,962cc twin-cam inline-four rebuilt
by BradCo Restorations in 2019 and upgraded with Jenvey Heritage
throttle-body electronic fuel injection and a MaxxECU engine
management system. The rebuild reportedly included JE forged
pistons, Carrillo connecting rods, King engine bearings, a polished
and balanced crankshaft, RJR hi-lift camshafts, replacement valves,
guides, and seals, and a 2.0-liter Euro-spec intake manifold. An
ANSA exhaust system completes the drivetrain.
The rebuilt engine sends power to the rear wheels through a
five-speed manual transmission that was overhauled with lightened
gears. A Sachs clutch and replacement hydraulic cylinders were
installed during the refurbishment.
The car is offered with correspondence from the Museo Alfa Romeo
confirming factory colors and a build date of May 6, 1974, along
with refurbishment records, the owner's manual, a car cover, a
spare wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a clean Michigan title in the
seller's name.
