If you're searching for a thoroughly distinctive ride with maximum
visual impact, you may have just found it! If aesthetics were
calibrated like an amplifier, this 1930 Ford Model A Rat Rod "WCC
Wrench Rod" would push the dial to "11". This steel-bodied standout
was created by the skilled craftsmen at West Coast Customs and is a
one of a kind take on the beloved Ford classic that has garnered a
number of high-profile magazine cover stories and a TV special.
With an outstanding faux patina satin green paint job, shaved door
handles and chopped roof, this is a modded classic that's sure to
draw attention. Smoothie wheels wrapped with whitewall tires are
the perfect accompaniment to the paint scheme and the prominent "W"
on the front radiator adds yet another unique touch to a car that's
got plenty of them.
The black vinyl interior shows plenty of creativity, as well.
Featuring a pair of aluminum racing buckets covered in black vinyl
with custom embroidery that straddles a prominent gear lever on the
transmission tunnel, this is one seriously memorable driving
environment. A suitably distinctive aluminum steering wheel sits on
the column and the color-matched dash just beyond it includes a set
of Stewart Warner gauges that are in good working order. Climb in
and lower yourself into the driver's seat, take hold of that tall
shift lever sitting on the transmission and your mood is sure to be
elevated.
This singular hot rod is powered by a 350-cubic-inch V8 that's been
outfitted with a performance cam and is fed by a trio of Holley
two-barrel carburetors. Turn the key while pressing the start
button, and you'll no doubt be impressed by just how smoothly the
engine idles as it sends an unmistakably aggressive note out of the
set of open headers at its sides. With a four-speed automatic 700R4
transmission that offers an overdrive gear just behind it, this
vintage Ford is unusually well-equipped for highway driving and
just imagine the double-takes that will result when you do that. A
custom drop-tube suspension with coilovers and rear trailing arms
not only affords this ride with an awesome stance, but also adds
adjustability and improves traction, while in front, an aluminum
radiator pairs with an electric fan to keep temperatures under
control.
