Following the success of the Murcielago LP640-4 Roadster,
Lamborghini debuted an exclusive and instantly recognizable update
to its open-top flagship in 2009. The new LP 650-4 Roadster
featured an enlarged 6.5-liter V12 that now produced 641 horsepower
and 487 lb-ft of torque through the Roadster's standard six-speed
e-Gear automatic transmission. While its already impressive 205 mph
top speed remained the same as the departing LP 640, the LP 650-4
now rocketed from zero to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Lamborghini
produced only 50 examples of the LP 650-4 Roadster, all of which
were finished in Grigio Telesto (gray) with a Nero Alcantara
interior and Arancio (orange) highlights tastefully disseminated
inside and out.
This 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster was the
marketing car used by Lamborghini to promote the 50 customer LP
650-4s and bears number 00 of 50 on its limitation plaque. It is
also believed to be one of the last cars legendary Lamborghini
chief test driver and brand ambassador Valentino Balboni officially
tested for the factory and features his signature on the inside of
the front hood. This car is heavily optioned from the factory with
carbon ceramic brakes, 18-inch Hermera wheels, a Kenwood head unit
with navigation, backup camera, and carbon fiber accents
throughout.
This example was purchased by the consignor's father directly from
the factory in 2009 and has been retained by the family ever since.
The family enjoyed this special roadster to the fullest, taking it
on numerous supercar tours across Europe including the Grande
Giro-Lamborghini's 50th Anniversary rally from Milan to Sant'Agata
Bolognese in May 2013.
A clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report indicates consistent
servicing throughout its ownership, most recently receiving a
comprehensive engine-out service that included replacement of the
clutch, spark plugs, and all fluids. It is now offered with 24,605
miles at cataloging-the majority of which were accrued on these
dream drives-and is furnished with its owner's books, soft top, and
extensive documentation including photos of the car on many of its
grand tours.
The Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster is instantly recognizable among
Lamborghini connoisseurs, yet this example elevates its appeal even
further as the original marketing car-the factory appointed
representative of one of the most alluring Murcielago variants.
Boasting healthy mileage and a recent engine-out service performed
to address the big-ticket mechanicals, it is a worthy centerpiece
for any supercar collection and an ideal companion for an
unforgettable, high-octane getaway.
