The "Rounded Line" moniker was given by GM to their third
generation of the always popular C/K series pickups. This 1978 is a
C20 model meaning it is the 3/4 ton version which was heavier-duty,
more suitable for towing, had heavier axles, and stronger
suspension. Not only that but this one has the Camper Special
package which had even stronger springs, shocks and sway bars to
increase the maximum payload allowing for the use of slide in
campers. The body on it is straight and painted its original two
tone light Seamist Green with White which looks good. It also has
the rear White multi-windowed camper shell. The glass on it is all
good throughout with no issues and is tinted. The trim on it is all
in good shape throughout and the grill with lights all have been
replaced. It also has a new hood and new fenders. The truck has a
heavy trailer package so you can tow with no problem. It sits on a
set of aftermarket wheels which are a nice addition and it has
chrome center caps.
Mechanically the truck has all been gone through and is in great
shape. It has a powerful 454 big block motor under the hood that
runs great. It is fitted with Blacked out Chevrolet valve covers, a
chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, new water pump, new belts, new oil
pan, and new oil pump. It was totally rebuilt 8,000 miles ago and
is road ready with a long life ahead of it. Paired with the motor
is a Turbo 400 automatic that sends power back to the heavy 14 bolt
rear with 4:11 gears. The brakes on it have all been gone through
and it has discs up front that are power assisted. The suspension
system is all stock but is all functioning properly. It rides down
the road well and has plenty of power.
The interior is a combination of cloth and vinyl in its original
Green. It has a bench seat with matching Green retractable 3 point
belts along with Green door panels and Green carpet. The dash
features a stock layout and the dash pad is in good condition. The
radio in it is new but has the original appearance. The gauges are
in the original bezel but have all been replaced with new Green
light gauges. It does come with the original gauges should someone
wanted to convert them back. The AC system blows cold and is all
brand new. Other very nice features include the power door locks
and power windows.
This is a really neat truck that is ready for a new home. It comes
with a clear title, book of wiring diagrams, owner's manual and the
service parts identification card which outlines all the factory
options.
