Inspired by the elegant Silver Dawn Drophead of the 1950s, the
Rolls-Royce Dawn, unveiled in 2015, translates classic open-air
motoring into a thoroughly modern expression of the marque. Its
clean, muscular form is defined by a sensuously tapered rear and
restrained, contemporary surfacing, while the interior delivers
true four-seat comfort in an environment of exceptional calm.
Crafted from the finest materials and engineered for
effortlessness, the Dawn offers a uniquely serene yet engaging
driving experience. Signature innovations such as the bespoke
"Silent Ballet" roof mechanism ensure near-imperceptible operation,
reinforcing the Dawn's position as the pinnacle of refined,
luxurious open-top motoring.
This Dawn completed production at the Goodwood plant on 13 February
2017 and was destined for the U.S., where it was acquired by its
original owner in Houston, Texas, that August. A digital copy of
the window sticker reveals that they were not one to shy away from
Rolls-Royce's extensive list of optional equipment. The striking
English White Metallic alone cost $9,425, which was contrasted with
a Blue convertible top. The white and blue theme continued through
the full natural grain leather interior, with the primary hide
color being Seashell contrasted by Navy Blue. The bespoke interior,
with its ventilated seats, RR monogram in the headrests, Navy Blue
piping, and Walnut Burr wood trim, added $15,400. The detailed list
of optional equipment further included lambswool footmats,
color-keyed boot trim, and the Driver Assistance 3 package, which
included lane departure warning, high-beam assistance, active
cruise control, a head-up display, and night vision with pedestrian
recognition. In total, this Dawn was equipped with just over
$35,000 in optional equipment, bringing the final price to over
$381,000.
The CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows that the Dawn remained
under the care of its original owner until August 2019, when it was
purchased by the current owner at 12,700 miles. Since entering
their care, the car has been maintained by Manhattan Motor Cars of
New York and presently displays just 13,659 miles at cataloging.
While it is furnished with a single key, both umbrellas, and its
owner's manual, please note that the wind deflector is not present.
The striking elegance of this Dawn exudes understated class while
maintaining a purposeful presence that can only be found in a
Rolls-Royce. With production of the Dawn ending in 2023, this
beautiful example is surely destined to become an icon of its
era.
