Singer Vehicle Design, founded in 2009 by former Catherine Wheel
guitarist Rob Dickinson, has revolutionized the world of Porsche
restoration. Starting with a customer's 964-generation 911, Singer
meticulously disassembles and rebuilds each vehicle, backdating the
964's appearance to the coveted long-nose style of earlier 911
models complete with low bumpers and ducktail-inspired spoilers.
This aesthetic transformation, coupled with the company's attention
to detail, use of high-quality materials like carbon fiber, and
ability to offer virtually limitless customization options, has set
a new standard in classic car restoration. As a result, Singer has
become synonymous with the pinnacle of Porsche craftsmanship,
attracting a clientele that includes racing drivers, celebrities,
and enthusiasts from around the globe.
This Porsche 911 Targa Reimagined by Singer, known as "Blueberry,"
represents a stunning reimagination of a 1991 911 Carrera 4 Targa
by Singer Vehicle Design. The transformation process was
meticulously executed over the course of some 4,500 man-hours. At
the core of this reimagined 911 lies an air-cooled 4.0-liter
flat-six engine, fully rebuilt with RS+ cams, a CARB-compliant
Emtron ECU, a ceramic plenum inlet, and a titanium muffler exhaust
system. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a six-speed
manual transmission, maintaining the original Carrera 4's
959-derived all-wheel-drive system.
The suspension has been upgraded with an hlins sport adjustable
system, providing superior roadholding capabilities. Braking
performance is enhanced by Brembo calipers with high-performance
rotors, finished in a bespoke Deep Orange with black lettering. The
car rides on duo-tone wheels featuring satin black backgrounds with
anodized outer rings. The "Blueberry" also boasts a seam-welded
Targa body - an uncommon body style in the world of Singers -
painted in Singer's specially formulated "Blue Blood" exterior
finish. This striking color is complemented by ghosted light Blue
Blood racing side stripes with Deep Orange lettering, and a
matching Deep Orange decklid lettering. The Targa roof is trimmed
in a Blue Black Stayfast canvas, while the Targa header, hoop face,
and liner are custom-finished in Dark Navy and perforated Orange,
respectively.
Inside, the Blueberry showcases a thoroughly personalized interior.
The primary trim is finished in Orange leather from the Classic
Leather Collection, with bespoke weave inserts featuring Dark Navy
stripes. The dashboard, roll tops, and knee pads are similarly
trimmed in Dark Navy leather, creating a striking contrast of
complementary colors. The front passengers are treated to carbon
fiber bucket seats while rear passengers enjoy a folding rear seat,
providing a touch of practicality. Singer's renowned attention to
detail is evident throughout the rest of the cabin, from the
bespoke Momo Prototipo steering wheel wrapped in Dark Navy leather
with Orange stitching, to the dash emblem featuring a Singer script
finished in Blue Blood. Even the gauge cluster has been customized
with Singer Racing White faces, Blue Blood markings, and Singer
Orange needles and redline. Modern conveniences have not been
overlooked, with the inclusion of air conditioning and a high-end
audio system featuring a Porsche Classic Radio Navigation unit with
Apple CarPlay, upgraded Audison amplifier, and Dynaudio speakers
with a subwoofer.
Blueberry stands as a testament to Singer's philosophy of
reimagining the Porsche 911, creating a vehicle that is both a
tribute to the past and a glimpse into an alternative automotive
future where the air-cooled engine continued to evolve and thrive.
With its unique combination of performance upgrades, bespoke design
elements, and meticulous attention to detail, this reimagined 911
Targa truly embodies the essence of Singer's craft. Offered with
just 88 miles at the time of listing, this exquisite Singer
creation presents an unparalleled opportunity for the devoted
Porsche collector to acquire a virtually new, bespoke 911 that
seamlessly blends classic aesthetics with modern performance.
