The Ford GT was a bold reawakening of the marque's supercar era in
the form of the reimagined Le Mans-conquering GT40. Conceived in
concept form to celebrate Ford Motor Company's centennial
anniversary in 2003, the new-age GT debuted several unique features
all together in a retro package with an unmistakable silhouette
designed by Camilo Pardo. Carroll Shelby was also brought back to
serve as technical advisor on the production of the GT40's
successor. Although lacking a Le Mans counterpart at the time, the
new Ford GT quickly cemented itself as an unparalleled driver's
car, offering a mix of analog-style controls and modern
performance. Power came from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 with DOHC
four-valves-per-cylinder, producing 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of
torque through a Ricardo six-speed manual transmission and a
limited-slip differential. As a result, the Ford GT sprinted from
zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 205 mph.
This 2005 Ford GT, serial number 1194, is finished in Centennial
White with Sonic Blue Le Mans racing stripes adorning the hood,
roof, rear hatch, and flanks over an Ebony Black leather-trimmed
interior. It is further equipped with black-painted brake calipers,
cast aluminum wheels, and the premium McIntosh Audiophile stereo
with CD player, as confirmed by the included Marti Report and
original window sticker.
Chassis 1194 was completed in May 2005 and was first offered for
sale by Larry H. Miller Super Ford in Salt Lake City, Utah, that
August according to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. The
car was sold to its sole private owner in Florida that same year
and was regularly serviced through Ford dealerships in Jacksonville
and Saint Augustine for the next 10 years. It was recently
comprehensively serviced by the consignor's in-house mechanic,
which included an oil change, belt replacement, brake refresh, four
new Bridgestone tires, and more. It is now offered with 7,700 miles
as well as its owner's manuals in their case, battery charger, two
sets of keys, air pump, window sticker, and tote bag with car cover
still in their plastic.
With a nearly full roster of options, single ownership, and low
mileage, chassis 1194 is an investment-grade GT that exemplifies
the purity and performance of Ford's celebrated supercar.
