If there were an automotive recipe for freedom, more likely than
not, it would include a V-8 engine, a convertible top, and a
classic, sporty look. That's why this custom 1969 Chevrolet
Corvette Convertible Restomod is so captivating. Add to that, this
C3's full black paint, red fender hash marks, roll hoops, and
ultra-aggressive L88-style hood to go along with its undeniably
alluring Coke-bottle shape, and you have an incredibly collectible
car that is unlike any other third-generation 'Vette out there.
Inside, we find a custom red vinyl interior. A full-length center
console separates a pair of aftermarket bucket seats. A four-spoke,
power-assisted steering wheel features a Crossed Flags center cap
and sits ahead of an upgraded set of gauges, highlighted by a large
160 mph speedometer and a matching 8,000 rpm tachometer, both
backlit in red. Gone are the C3's auxiliary gauges, and in their
place is a big Sony AM/FM/AUX touchscreen that offers Bluetooth
connectivity to allow for whatever soundtrack you want to accompany
your next road trip.
Under that signature front-hinged hood, we find a massive 496
cubic-inch Vortec V-8 engine. By eliminating the front license
plate bracket, this big block is essentially force-fed air into its
intake manifold by the oncoming atmosphere. This big block
eliminates spent gases through a set of Hooker long-tube headers
before exiting out of those glorious side pipes. Power is routed
through a tried-and-true Richmond six-speed manual transmission
before heading out to the rear end, which transfers those ponies to
the pavement via a set of 17-inch Vintage Wheel Works wheels.
