I bought this "Bird" in 2016 as a project car. This has been a resto mod and not an off-the-frame restoration. The following overview of major work completed is below:
Over $60K in parts and labor have been invested.
The Bird has the original engine block and tranny housing, both have been completely overhauled.
Car runs great. The odometer reads 81,834 but the rebuilt motor has less than 1,000 miles on it.
In addition to the car, the purchase price also includes the original hood and original wheels.
I've sold a few classic cars over the years and am aware of the scammers, fraudsters, and losers out there. Therefore, this is how the purchase will be completed. Upon agreement of the purchase price and shipping, we will sign a sales contract. Once signed, we will share some form of identification. Payment will be made by a direct wire from financial institution to financial institution. Once the funds have cleared, the title will be signed and a scanned copy will be emailed to the buyer. The original will be mailed. The buyer will then arrange for shipping. Since it's a convertible, I would recommend an enclosed shipping hauler but that's the buyer's discretion.
Full transparency. All gauges work but the speedometer runs about 20 miles faster than actual speed and the fuel gauge runs about a quarter tank more than what's actually in the tank. The driver's side sun flap doesn't like to stay in its holder. The spare hood has some scratches and small dings. The car itself has a small dimple on the upper right quarter panel.
Why am I selling? I'm not a cruise-in kind of guy so sadly the car sits almost all the time. I take it out once a month just to put gas through it and only drive about 10 miles per month. This is a beautiful car and gets lots of looks but is going to waste in my garage. I'm 63 and it's time for the car to go to someone else who will enjoy it more. This is a driver car!
