This 1985 Jeep CJ-7 is an all steel, really clean CJ that spent its
life in Arizona. The previous owner spent over $13,000 (we have the
receipts) on upgrades, maintenance, and repairs to make this a
great driving and reliable vehicle. Some unforeseen events came up
that forced him to sell it. The body on this Jeep is clean and
straight. The Sebring Red paint appears to be original and still
looks excellent. It is hard to believe it is original but we found
no evidence of a repaint. The hard doors were rarely on this Jeep
over its life so the color is a touch off. The bumpers are both
aftermarket and the original hard-top is still very nice. The
underside of this CJ is very clean and we found no rust issues with
this vehicle.
The interior is also really nice. It has newer Bestop seats front
and rear and also newer carpet. The gauge cluster was replaced with
an aftermarket digital gauge that shows 3500 miles he put on it.
The original gauge had 128,000 or so. The door panels and dash
appear to be original and are nice. The steering wheel was replaced
and it has LED Headlights and Taillights. The headlights,
taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The
gauges all work (even the clock), The horn heat and wipers work.
This is an AC Jeep and the AC is also working. BONUS! This Jeep
does come with a bikini top and a tow bar.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent and it runs and drives great.
The engine is the original 4.2L 258 Inline 6 that runs awesome.
Ithas Howell Fuel Injection installed along with a K & N Intake,
new exhaust manifold, aluminum valve cover, new EGR valve, HEI
distributor, new sensors, full tune-up, new belts and hoses, new
head gasket, new timing chain, new oil pan gasket, new water pump,
harmonic balancer, and new timing cover. They basically tore down
the engine, upgraded, and resealed it. The engine runs strong and
it passed California Smog when the work was completed in 2023. It
has the T4 4 Speed Manual transmission that shifts great with a
strong clutch. It is mated to the Dana 300 transfer case and the
4WD works like it should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 3.54
gears. The front axle is the Dana 30 with 3.54 gears. It has a 2
1/2 Inch all spring lift with HD Shackles. It is sitting on a nice
set of Black aftermarket Wheels with new 32 Inch Mud Terrain
tires.
We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and
accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures
are never touched up or photoshopped. What you see is an accurate
representation of the vehicle. We take consistent pictures and show
you everything so you can get a true representation of the
vehicle.
