Description:
This 1966 Pontiac GTO is powered by a 389ci Tri-Power V8 paired
with a two-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a
Safe-T-Track differential, 14? Rally I-style wheels, BFGoodrich
red-stripe tires, power steering, front disc brakes, a dual exhaust
system, and PerTronix ignition components. Inside, the red bucket
seats are joined by a center console, a floor shifter, air
conditioning, and an Alpine stereo receiver.
Interior:
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in red vinyl
and joined by a color-keyed padded dashboard and carpets. The
simulated wood-rim steering wheel sits on a tilting column ahead of
a woodgrain dashboard fascia. Instrumentation includes a factory
120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and readouts for fuel level, water
temperature, and oil pressure along with AutoMeter auxiliary gauges
mounted ahead of the shifter.
Exterior:
The car left the factory finished in Montero Red�, and it was
refurbished under prior ownership. Details include a power antenna,
stacked headlights, a hood scoop, black pinstripes, polished
exhaust finishers, quarter vent windows, and chrome trim on the
grille, bumpers, window surrounds, and rocker panels. Painted 14?
Rally I-style wheels feature polished trim rings and center caps
and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial red-stripe tires,
and a full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped
with power-assisted steering and front disc brakes.
Drivetrain:
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted
two-speed automatic transmission and a Safe-T-Track differential.
The 389ci Tri-Power V8 was factory equipped with three two-barrel
carburetors and was rated at 360 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of
torque.
