When it first debuted as a complete redesign, the tenth-generation
Thunderbird introduced a new platform and a fresh take on the
model's 'personal luxury car' motto. This 1990 Ford Thunderbird SC
comes with a ridiculously low 14,589 (believed) actual miles. With
mileage like that, we have no reason to doubt that its Bright Red
Clearcoat is also original, especially since it was ceramic-coated
four years ago, accentuating the Super Coupe's ground effects and
embossed rear bumper and trick deck spoiler, which reminds everyone
that SC can also stand for 'supercharged'.
Inside, we find a clean stock Titanium Grey cloth interior. A
center console separates a pair of sport bucket seats with
inflatable bolsters. A four-spoke power-assisted wheel sits ahead
of an SC-specific six-pod gauge cluster that features a unique
center-mounted boost gauge, smartly positioned just above the fuel
gauge. The original AM/FM/CD player sits just above the simple
push-button HVAC controls. Power locks and windows, along with
air-conditioning and cruise control, provide plenty of modern
amenities.
Pop open that expansive hood, and we find a (believed) original
overhead valve 3.8-liter supercharged and intercooled V-6 engine.
Thanks to its Eaton Roots-type blower, stout iron block, and
lightweight aluminum heads, this supercharged six-cylinder engine
pumped out an impressive 210 horsepower and 315 pound-feet of
torque when it rolled off the assembly line three and a half
decades ago. That power is routed through a tried-and-true
Borg-Warner T5 transmission before reaching the limited-slip rear
end. A set of sixteen-inch alloy wheels shod in 225/60R-16 Goodyear
tires put all that power to the pavement.

This 2002 Ford Thunderbird is equipped with an independent
four-wheel suspension and lowered with Eibach springs. With a curb
weight of around 3,600 pounds to move, this roadster could hustle
from 0 to 60 mph in the low 7-second range and cover the quarter
mile in the mid-15-second range when it rolled off the assembly
line. This ultra-low-mileage car comes with its service manuals,
original warranty card, and original window sticker, to provide
plenty of provenance and make it feel like you're buying a
brand-new thirty-six-year-old car. If you're one of the many who
have vivid memories of this supercharged Super Coupe and want to
experience it again (or for the first time), this is the car you've
