The ninth generation of the Cadillac Eldorado was introduced in
1971 and was produced through 1978. This generation introduced a
beautiful new exterior design that featured sharp lines, tasteful
use of chrome and a new front facia. The 1976 Eldorado model is
pure '70s Cadillac and holds a special place in history as the last
production year for the 'full-size' El Dorado convertible. Cadillac
even marketed the '76 Eldorado as "the last American
convertible".
Calumet Cream Exterior with Antique Light Buckskin Interior-
This Eldorado convertible is a mostly original example of this
classic except for an outstanding exterior respray of Calumet
Cream. Accents include tasteful chrome, handsome pin stripping and
steel wheels with factory color-keyed wheel covers that mount 15"
white-wall radials. Inside, the tufted Antique Light Buckskin
interior is in overall very good condition, showing virtually no
wear to the leather upholstery. Features include climate-controlled
A/C, cruise, power tinted windows and power seats/locks. The power
convertible top is equipped with a glass rear window, and an
aftermarket AM/FM sound system has been fitted (needs TLC). The
factory Owner's Manual is also included.
Cadillac 500ci Power and FWD-
This 5,300-pound Cadillac is over 18' long and almost 80" wide.
Fortunately, from a performance standpoint, being large is not a
problem. There is an icon under the hood - the venerable 500ci
Cadillac V8 that delivers 360lb/ft of torque. When first
introduced, this powerful motor was exclusive to the Eldorado, but
over time it went on to be a mainstay of the Cadillac lineup. It is
backed by Cadillac's 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic FWD transaxle, and
the chassis is equipped with power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes and
power steering.
The Cadillac Eldorado represents classic '70s American luxury -
enormous proportions, lavish comfort and a historic engine.
