The Pontiac GTO! Where it all began! In it's second year of production, the 1965 Pontiac GTOs were selling just about as fast as they were being built. Our 1965 example here is a real 242 GTO coupe that had a complete frame off restoration a few years ago and barley has a few hundred miles since completion. Painted the original color Montero Red with pearl (white) interior. Original interior color was black. The original 389 motor is long gone and a Pontiac 400 with a correct tri-power set up now rests between the fenders with a Muncie 4-speed transmission. The rear end gears are 3.42 posi. A full set of original Rally Is with reproduction red line tires are at the corners. All the sheet metal is new and the fit and finish is excellent. This car was done to the taste of the original restorer and although not 100% authentic, it's close. The body is poker straight and completely corrosion free. All chrome and brightwork is brand new.
