Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this
gorgeous two-owner gray 2003 Ford Thunderbird. Ford's 11th
generation T-bird was available from 2002 through 2005, and was
based on Ford's "DEW" platform, which was shared with the Lincoln
LS and the Jaguar S-Type and XF. Jaguar designed the 3.9L V8, which
sent power through Ford's 5R55N 5-speed automatic transmission.
When the final generation Ford Thunderbird was released, it was
following a then-current trend for nostalgic recreations of retro
styling that was in vogue at the time and included "new" generation
offerings from several manufacturers. Take, for example, the new
Volkswagen New Beetle, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Plymouth/Chrysler
Prowler and Mini Cooper, all of which either used design cues from
the originals or were entirely "new/retro" (like the Prowler and PT
Cruiser). This generation T-bird was only available only as a
convertible, but had an optional removable hardtop, which most
buyers opted for. According to automotive writer Jerry Flint, the
new Thunderbird "turned heads wherever it went" and it's still
doing it to this day. Inside this beautiful gray T-bird, one will
note styling cues from Lincoln and Jaguar, especially in the dash
area, instrument panel, and steering wheel. The interior on this
T-bird shows very well, and it is obvious that its owner has taken
great care of it, with the carpet looking like new, and the black
leather seating showing almost no signs of wear. This is a fine
example of the 11th generation Thunderbird, and includes cold A/C,
AM/FM/CD Radio, Aluminum Wheels, Anti-Lock Brakes, Anti-theft
system, Manual Convertible top, Cruise Control, Driver and
Passenger Airbags, Leather Interior, Lumbar Support, Power Brakes,
Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power
Windows, Radial Tires, Rear Defogger, Seatbelts, Tilt Wheel, and
Traction Control.
