Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to digitally present
this unique, modernized 1973 Plymouth Scamp, a stunning vehicle
that blends Mopar heritage with cutting-edge performance
engineering.
Every inch of this Scamp has been reimagined with premium
components and craftsmanship, transforming it from a simple A-body
cruiser into a true pro-touring-level performer.
Under the hood lies a built and modified 360 V8 topped with
Edelbrock Multi-Port Fuel Injection and Edelbrock aluminum heads,
paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission that delivers both
raw muscle and precise control giving this Scamp the throttle
response and reliability of a modern powerplant while maintaining
that unmistakable Mopar character. The power is backed by a
Hydroboost power-assisted steering and braking system, offering
exceptional control and modern drivability.
Underneath, a QA1 coil-over suspension setup with tubular front
control arms gives the car a planted, confidence-inspiring feel,
while Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes ensure precise stopping power
to match the performance upgrades. This car has been minitubbed and
features a 8 3/4 4.10 SureGrip rear end with 295 / 50R15 Cooper
Cobra Tires.
Visually, the car has been thoughtfully enhanced with a '69 Valiant
grille conversion and shaved side markers, giving it a cleaner,
more aggressive look without losing its vintage identity. The
result is a car that looks both timeless and unmistakably custom -
a Plymouth Scamp unlike any other on the road.
Inside and out, the attention to detail speaks volumes. From the
stance to the mechanical refinement, this Scamp isn't just another
restored A-body - it's a statement of what happens when old-school
muscle meets modern performance engineering. The exterior has been
repainted in its original red, a finish that shows off the crisp
body lines and Mopar attitude. Inside, a black leather interior
provides a clean, driver-focused cabin with just the right touch of
comfort. Features like power brakes, power steering, and anti-lock
brakes make this Scamp as easy to enjoy on the road as it is to
admire at a show.
