INTRODUCTION: This former workhorse has been transformed into a
modern showpiece and comfortable cruiser. It rides on a custom
chassis, is powered by a supercharged LS engine, features a
uniquely striking exterior, and offers true comfort for four adults
inside.
EXTERIOR: This certainly doesn't look like it did in 1958! It was
really cleaned by removing a lot of trim and emblems. The fuel door
was filled and a slick pop up flush mount filler was relocated. The
taillights were converted from 2 to 4. The biggest task was
converting the tailgate into split doors on the bottom with hidden
hinges. The body is absolutely straight and smooth from the rockers
to the roof. It has a smooth and glossy pewter metallic paint and a
clear coat finish. Another very unique feature is the one piece
smoked side glass which adds to its clean, custom look. The chrome
and trim is overall straight and shiny. It's looking great slammed
down on Boyd Coddington wheels: 18s in front wide 20s in back and
they are wrapped in performance tires.
INTERIOR: Very well finished custom leather interior that seats
four comfortably. The custom molded side panels, consoles,
headliner and moldings are expertly wrapped and stitched throughout
with no loose seams or imperfections. Nobody has to fight over who
rides upfront, all four leather captain chairs offer the ultimate
comfortable seating. Everyone will be able to enjoy the Bluetooth
stereo system with multiple speakers, amp and subwoofer. The driver
can get positioned just right with the power seat and tilt wheel. I
love the Retro gauges! They look stock but are digital and include
everything from a tachometer to the shift indicator and only 275
miles showing on the odometer. The dash is cleaned up, smoothed out
and painted. The forward console has cupholders, a/c controls and
the power window switches. Boy, you are going to be cruising in
comfort!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, that's impressive! It's loaded with
polished parts and yes that's a polished Whipple supercharger
sitting on top of the 6.0 Vortec LS engine. It also has polished
aluminum heads, polished cold air intake and a set of coated
headers. It's also dressed up real nice with some Billet
Specialties coil pack covers and the front of the motor has a
serpentine belt system with polished pulleys, a/c compressor and
alternator. It also has modern power steering with a remote
reservoir. A polished aluminum radiator and polished electric fan
keeps it running cool. The engine bay is custom fabricated metal
that was painted the same body color. A real nice set of EMS billet
hinges operates the hood smooth as silk.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This is a very cool feature, a 3 door tailgate!
The handles were shaved and the hinges were hidden. The bottom
doors open by remote and the top window lifts open with the help of
gas struts. Inside is completely custom upholstered. There's plenty
of room for cargo and there's a custom box with heat/air vents and
a thumping subwoofer.
UNDERSIDE: This is sitting on a complete aftermarket custom
chassis. The new frame is boxed, smoothed and painted body color.
The front end is full of polished parts including tubular upper and
lower control arms, drop spindles, tierod ends and swaybar. It has
Ridetech coilover adjustable gas shocks, rack and pinion steering.
Similar deal in back: a four link system with polished tubular
control arms, pan hard bar and Ridetech coilover adjustable gas
shocks. The custom made exhaust is sounding great with Flowmaster
mufflers. The brake system has a polished master and power booster,
Wilwood drilled and slotted discs at all 4 wheels and polished
calipers. The fuel tank is polished. Looking up at the motor it has
an aluminum oil pan and high torque starter. The trans is a 4L80E
overdrive automatic and a polished aluminum driveshaft connects to
the 9 inch rear with 3.73 posi gears. There is zero rust under this
truck, all the metal was replaced and painted.

CONCLUSION: This 1958 Chevy Suburban is a bold, no-compromise
restomod that turns an iconic hauler into an adrenaline-charged
cruiser. Supercharged LS power, a full custom chassis, and a
show-stopping leather interior make every drive an event. With only
275 miles since completion, it's fresh, flawless, and ready to
dominate the road, the show field, and everything in between.
