INTRODUCTION: Feeling hot, hot, hot? If not, this 454 powered El
Camino SS will ignite your fire again. It received a smoking body
off frame restoration with a real LS6 engine producing 450
horsepower; that's more than any other motor of the muscle car era!
On top of that, the Muncie 4 speed manual trans will easily "light
em up", leaving a mound of smoldering rubber on the line. Still not
hot enough? Then the blistering Cranberry Red paint will capture
the attention of onlookers like a child staring at a solar eclipse.
All this for a price that won't burn up your 401K. Are you getting
warm yet?
EXTERIOR: The bold, unapologetic Cranberry Red paint has a glass
like finish, and yes, the stripes are painted on with correct
dimensions, smooth to the touch too. Exceptionally straight when
looking down the side of the body with nice fitting panels that
have well above average gaps. It has the Cowl Induction hood with
flapper that opens up when you hit the throttle. Looks like all of
the chrome emblems, trim, and grille have been replaced. The vinyl
top has been replaced along with all the weatherstrips and seals.
The windshield is also new. It's rolling on a sexy set of SS wheels
wrapped in reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires that still have
the nubs on the tread.
INTERIOR: This is incredible, it looks like basically everything
has been replaced! The bucket seats with headrests have new vinyl
outside and new stuffing inside. The dash pad, gauge bezel,
headliner, deluxe steering wheel, door panels, arm rests, handles,
levers, kick panels, and carpeting have all been done, appearing
like new again. But it's more than just good looks with the Muncie
4 speed manual transmission sitting between the seats for your
driving excitement. Showing only 128 miles on the odometer, it's
just enough to get all the bugs worked out, now you get to have all
the fun. It also has the optional gauges including the 6500 redline
tachometer which is correct for an LS6. It also includes a
functioning clock with amp, fuel, and temp gauges too. A retro
stereo fits right in the factory hole. The glove box light and dome
light even work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a real deal 450hp LS6 engine with the
very desirable 512 casting on the block. It also has the correct
rectangular port heads, Winters foundry low-rise aluminum intake
manifold, and solid lifter camshaft. Air is forced in the engine
via functioning Cowl Induction and exits via cast iron exhaust
manifold with all new hardware. It's equipped with power steering
and also has power brakes with a new cadmium plated booster. The
battery is properly secured plus the squirters and horns are hooked
up. All the belts and hoses have been replaced. The underside of
the steel hood, fenderwells, and firewall are all neatly painted
satin black. The original cowl tag is still in place. It's freshly
detailed and dialed in!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The tailgate functions properly with nice paint
inside the jamb and new coated steel cables/hardware. From there
you will see all clean metal with a glossy Cranberry Red finish,
just like the exterior.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame during restoration. The
floors are all smooth clean metal painted satin black. It has a
nicely refreshed F41 suspension which includes front and rear sway
bars plus rear boxed control arms. All the steering components look
like they have been rebuilt. The brakes have also been rebuilt and
are disc up front, drum out back, with the e-brake hooked up. The
reproduction dual exhaust system even has resonators and the tips
are the correct polished cowbell style. The fuel system was
replaced including the tank. When looking up at the engine, it's a
clean Chevy Orange with a factory style starter. Stroking the gears
of the Muncie M20 4 speed manual is going to be a blast. The
original 12 bolt 3.31 posi rear end with code CRV indicates its an
SS. It's freshly detailed and dialed in under here too!
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: About 4,000 LS6 Chevelles were made, approximately 500
LS6 El Caminos were made making it a rarely seen vehicle even back
in 1970. This car is guaranteed to give that warm fuzzy feeling
every time you mash the gas pedal! You will definitely feel the
burn after hours of fiery driving excitement!
