INTRODUCTION: Highly documented, VIN #s matching motor! Concours
restored to factory condition and the judging sheets are included,
it scored 655 points out of 661! There were only 789 Shelbys total
in 1970, of those only 117 were GT350s with an automatic and only
87 were in these colors. Factor in air conditioning and how many
survived- this is an extremely rare car! Documented with original
invoice, order report, concours judging sheets, Marti Report and it
is listed in the Shelby Registry.
EXTERIOR: The Shelby styling changes truly separated itself from
the Mustangs. Distinctive fiberglass features were on everything
except the roof and the doors! Upfront a wide open grill and a hood
with 5 air ducts feed as much air as possible to the 351. The
extended front fenders, dovetail trunk and quarter panel scoops are
also fiberglass and add to the good looks of this car. Upfront
features correct Lucas fog lamps and in back is a set of sequential
taillights borrowed from the 65 Thunderbird. The body is in
excellent shape on this one, no rust and it fits nicely. Repainted
its original beautiful Candy Apple Red which is polished smooth and
glossy. The chrome, weatherstrips and glass look great. It's also
sitting on Shelby wheels, has Shelby emblems and the unique Shelby
exhaust port.
INTERIOR: Shelby's upgrades werent just limited to the exterior,
there's plenty inside too! The deluxe interior is in great shape
from carpet to headliner. The most notable Shelby feature is the
roll bar with shoulder harnesses, actually all the seatbelts have
Shelby logos. The consoles were also upgraded with a padded
armrest, toggle switches and gauges. Shelby logos are throughout
including on the wood shift handle. This one also features a
factory tachometer, fold down rear seat, tilt away wheel and red
mats sewn into the carpet. The radio is upgraded to a retro stereo
that looks original with factory style door speakers.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is where the car really separates itself
from the others, aside from having power steering, power brakes and
factory air conditioning it has its actual VIN number matching
motor! So many times people say they have the original motor and
when it comes down to it they don't. This one has the VIN number
stamped on the back of the engine below the head that matches the
car. The entire engine compartment is restored and detailed. On top
of the 351 is the complete ram air system including the heat riser
tube. It's correct down to the details: cloth wrapped choke tube,
reproduction hose clamps and stickers, Ford washer fluid bottle,
Autolite breather cap, reproduction plug wires and more. A correct
Autolite battery is even included for show purposes. All the
finishes are proper, smooth and neatly applied.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is clean and complete, everything's painted
real nice in red. It is finished off with reproduction stickers,
weatherstrip and trunk mat. The original collapsible spare and jack
assembly is included along with a working trunk light.
UNDERSIDE: At the time of restoration everything under the car was
rebuilt, restored and detailed to original condition. The floors,
frame rails, inner rockers all appear to be clean metal painted a
clean semi gloss finish. It even has the little rubber drain
grommets in the lower 1/4s. The steering and Competition suspension
with Shelby shocks was completely gone through, so were the brakes.
It has discs up front, drum in back and the e-brake is all hooked
up. It has a correct exhaust system with crossover pipe,
resonators, transverse muffler and the unique Shelby manifold that
goes out through the center of the valence. The fuel system was
redone. Looking up at the motor it is clean, the components look
proper. It has its original FMXautomatic transmission, the tag is
still attached. The properly detailed driveshaft goes back to the
original rear end with 3.00 locker gears.

CONCLUSION: This Shelby checks all the boxes! Whether you're in it
for the hobby or your a purebred collector this is the car to have.
It's documented, judged, numbers matching and yet it's beautiful
and full of very desirable features. Interest in Shelby's are as
strong as ever, it's a great investment you will enjoy!
