We are proud to present this 1963 Corvette L84 split window coupe. This frame-off restored car represents one of the most iconic American vehicles of all time. After all, does anyone overlook a red split window? It is in wonderful condition throughout and retains its numbers-matching 327ci 360hp fuel injected engine and 4-speed manual transmission.
Built in late February of 1963, this four-owner C2 received a frame-off restoration circa 2002. The fiberglass body was blasted with walnut shells before being repainted its original code 923 Riverside Red. Body gaps are nice throughout the car. The frame looks great too, having been stripped to bare metal and powdercoated in black. Be sure to see the underside pictures of this one as it is very clean. All chrome and trim pieces were updated along with emblems, bezels, and lenses. Same with rubber seals, weatherstripping, and window felts. The steel wheels have correct 1963 covers and are fitted with Goodyear 6.70-15 bias ply tires with white stripes.
The engine is the optional fuel injected L84 rated at 360hp and is original to the car with the matching VIN derivative. It shows an assembly date of 2-15-63 along with the correct RF suffix code. The fuel injection unit was professionally rebuilt at the time of restoration. All ignition shielding is included and the block retains a canister oil filter. The Borg Warner T10 4-speed transmission is also numbers-matching with an assembly date of 1-2-63 and matching VIN derivative. The rear end is a CE code (4.11 Positraction) and is presumed original to the car with a date of 2-6-63.
The black vinyl interior has also been redone and retains a stock appearance throughout. Everything looks great including the seats, door panels, carpet, and dash pads. Optional equipment includes an AM/FM radio and power windows. The speedometer, tach, gauges, dash lights, courtesy lights, horn, wipers, heater/defroster, and parking brake all work properly. So do the headlight motors and exterior lighting. The clock was rebuilt by The Clock Works and retains its original style movement.
Mid-year Corvettes have proven to be solid classic car investments with split window coupes leading the charge. This is one of the nicer such examples you will find. It not only looks terrific but also has good mechanicals along with its original L84 fuel injected engine and 4-speed transmission. We are happy to provide additional photos or support video walkarounds / third party inspections as needed.
