--Opalescent Bronze Metallic with Red Leather, Red carpeting, 3.8
liter 6 Cylinder Engine, 4 Speed manual gearbox, numbers matching,
fully restored. Simply unforgettable, the Jaguar E-Type honored its
maker's brilliant racing heritage and revolutionized the sports car
concept in one stroke at its 1961 Geneva debut. While almost
relentless development kept the E-Type competitive on track and
maintained its relevance through three distinct series, the first
generation 3.8-litre examples occupy a particularly special place
in the hearts and minds of enthusiasts. This 3.8-Litre Fixed Head
Coupe is the 391st flat floor FHC with welded in bonnet louvers
ever built and the 6th one ever built with the Bonnett latches
mounted inside the car. It is also one of 3 or 4 ever to come from
the factory painted Opalescent Bronze Metallic in 1962. After being
parked in California garages for 41 years it was treated to a full
restoration by Marque specialist, Classic Showcase, completed in
2012 who paid extreme attention to detail during the restoration
process of this beautiful bronze and red XKE, with no expense being
spared. The restoration of this vehicle to Show level included the
following: the vehicle was stripped to bare metal, placed on a
rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, all body parts fitted to the
car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear,
color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. It has received a new
triplex windshield and door glass. All mechanical systems and
components have been gone through, restored or replaced as needed.
The engine and transmission have been rebuilt back to factory
specifications, as well as the rear end and suspension. When the
engine was re-built, machined and calibrated with new pistons, oil
pump, timing chain, bearings, valves, guides, seals, the head was
completely rebuilt, rebuilt the carburetors, clutch system, all new
hydraulic system, drive shaft balanced, replaced shocks, the
chassis and many other parts refinished in its correct finish, new
suspension bushings, new fuel pump, all electrical components,
instruments, gauges, knobs, switches rebuilt, rescreened or
replaced, seat frames restored, restored stone guards, new drip
panels, rear end completely rebuilt as well as the transmission.
All other systems, such as the electrical, hydraulic, cooling and
fuel system have been restored or replaced; the car received all
new rubber, and a complete new wire loom. As well, the car has also
received a new battery, the gas tank has been epoxy sealed, and the
radiator has been restored. All britework has been re-plated. This
car received a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the
correct materials. The new proper interior included padding,
carpet, panels, dash, and leather seats custom fitted and
installed. This immaculate matching numbers E-Type FHC comes with a
Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, Jack with jack bag,
knock off hammer and spare wheel. It will make a great addition to
any garage or collection and is ready for the serious collector who
wishes to show this wonderful pedigreed example to the public or is
ready for the competitive, serious collector awaiting their next
Concours or ready to be enjoyed on any type of spirited drive!
