Not everyone is into this style of paintwork-but right now, it's
very much in. For those who appreciate it, the yellow patina finish
on this 1954 GMC 3100 Restomod 5-Window Cab Long Bed is undeniably
cool and full of character. This is the kind of truck that turns
heads everywhere it goes. The front grille, upgraded headlights,
and bumpers are all in good shape, while the rear chrome bumper
pairs perfectly with the chrome side exhaust exiting ahead of both
rear tires. It may look rough at first glance, but that's the
beauty of the patina style-this GMC is likely more solid than most
modern trucks on the road today.
The interior takes a completely different, and intentionally bold,
approach. Designed to resemble a junkyard hauler with flair on the
outside, the interior features a custom, clean, expensive
layout-beautiful red leather seats with white inserts, red door
panels with white trim, and a bright red carpet that immediately
grabs your attention. The solid red dashboard houses a Classic
Instrument gauge cluster, while an aftermarket climate controller
sits just below an Alpine touchscreen stereo with AM/FM/AUX,
Bluetooth, and satellite radio. Sound is delivered through a custom
aftermarket speaker system, and chrome accents are found throughout
the cabin, including the gauge cluster housing, glove box door,
steering wheel, steering column, and more.
Under the hood, the engine bay is clean and eye-catching. It
features an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and a red-painted
engine cover with GMC red-painted valve covers. Power comes from a
5.3-liter LS4 V8 mated to a 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission
that sends torque to a GM 12-bolt rear axle. The truck rides on a
Mustang II-style front suspension with adjustable coil-overs and a
sway bar, while the rear uses a lowered, factory-style leaf spring
and shock setup. Painted red 20-inch wheels with chrome beauty
rings and GMC center caps are wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires, with
power disc brakes behind them at all four corners. Long-tube
headers, dual side exhaust, and MagnaFlow mufflers deliver a deep,
ground-pounding rumble that perfectly matches the truck's
aggressive attitude.
