This is one wild 1960 Mack B-Series Restomod, and it's going to
take an equally wild owner to give it a new home. This truck is
large and in charge. Once used to move houses a couple of decades
ago, it's now built to cruise, hit car shows, and unapologetically
take up two or three parking spaces at a time.
The truck wears a solid red patina paint scheme, with decals from
its working past still proudly visible. The only things that truly
shine on this Mack B are the wheels, and they shine bright. The
front bumper is rock-solid, and the rest of the truck follows suit,
giving it a tough, no-nonsense presence that fits the rat rod
attitude perfectly.
That rat rod look continues inside, where green dominates the
cabin. The charcoal gray seats are much newer but show some wear,
keeping the interior honest. A newer truck-style gauge cluster is
neatly mounted under the dash, while a Mack-branded steering wheel
seems to be slightly newer as well. In the bed, what looks to be a
new wooden plank floor is paired with spray-on bedliner material
along the inner walls, which stands out as one of the few refreshed
areas, along with the wheels.
Under the hood, things get serious. These engines are solid and
dependable. Power comes from a 2010 Ford E-450 6.0-liter
Turbodiesel that idles smoothly, runs strong, and accelerates well.
Power steering is responsive, an absolute must in a truck this long
and heavy. The engine is backed by a 5-speed automatic transmission
sourced from an F-450, a combo designed to rack up miles
reliably.
Out back sits a Dana 70 rear axle. The front suspension is mostly
factory stock from a 2010 Ford E-450, while the rear features a
custom leaf spring and shock setup. This is a true dually, riding
on six wheels... four of which are 22-inch Cali Off Road wheels
wrapped in 285/45R22 tires. Power disc brakes handle stopping
duties at all four corners, and a factory 2010 Ford E-450 exhaust
system finishes things off.
