History & Restoration:
This Corvette was a well-preserved, original, unrestored example
before receiving a body-off restoration in the late 1990s. It was
later sold to a collector in Washington State, where it was driven
occasionally at his Lake Samish residence before being stored in a
hangar alongside his collection of cars and aircraft until
2025.
After acquisition by County Corvette, the car was comprehensively
inspected and properly sorted. The entire fuel system was serviced,
including a complete rebuild of the fuel-injection unit, along with
a new fuel tank and fuel pump. The braking system was refreshed
with a rebuilt master cylinder and new wheel cylinders. The
distributor was serviced, and a new dash wiring harness was
installed.
Some of the chrome had hazed over time and was addressed with
replated bumpers and grille. The paint was professionally cut and
polished to restore depth and gloss.
New radial tires with a correct bias-ply whitewall appearance were
installed, maintaining period-correct aesthetics while
significantly improving ride quality, handling, and safety.
Glass & Originality:
The car retains all correct, original-appearing glass, including
the windshield and side windows:
• Passenger door glass: XY - February 1959
• Driver door glass: NY - January 1959
• Windshield: JY - May 1959
Summary:
This Corvette presents beautifully today and carries the appearance
of a freshly restored example. The rare color combination is simply
stunning, and the car has been completely gone through and properly
sorted.
With professional restorations now approaching $200,000 and beyond,
this Corvette represents an exceptional value. It is fully sorted
and ready to be enjoyed.
