• VIN 9118201195
• Engine No. 628117
• Completed December 1977
• Delivered on March 8, 1978
• D - Series Produced from August 1977 to July 1978
• No. 1195 of 2,436 911SC Coupes produced in the U.S.
The first year of the 911SC model finished in its factory color
combination - Silver Metallic with a Black interior. Factory
options include Electric Sunroof (650), US Standard Emissions
(C02), Air Conditioning, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
The paintwork is in beautiful condition, with excellent gaps and
panel alignment, featuring 16" Fuch alloy rims, fog lights, and a
one-year-only chrome trim package. The interior is exceptional,
featuring recent leather-upholstered front seats, a leather-wrapped
steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and a Blaupunkt radio. The air
conditioning system was recently serviced with a new compressor and
dryer, and it is blowing ice-cold air. The Fuchs alloy wheels are
mounted to new Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 - Max
Performance Summer tires (205 55 R16 front, and 255 50 R16 rear).
The undercarriage is all original, solid, and rust-free.
Originally delivered by Essex Sports Car, Inc (Porsche dealer) in
Maplewood, New Jersey, to the first owner on March 8, 1978, and
serviced at the same dealer from 1978 to 1992. Sold to the second
owner in the early 2010's, who was also from New Jersey and later
moved to Chapin, South Carolina in 2016. The 911SC was shown at the
Porsche Club of America - Zone 1 Concours in 2015, scoring 293.40
out of 300, and again at the NNJR Porsche Club of America -
Concours d'Elegance, scoring 224 out of 225 on May 2, 2015. In
September of 2019, the engine and transmission were removed, and
the engine was disassembled to replace the head studs along with
the rear main seal. At the same time, a Mocal front oil cooler was
installed to replace the front loop oil cooler, and the engine
compartment sound pad was replaced. After the work was complete, a
compression test was performed; the results were 175-180 psi across
the cylinders, and the leak down was 2-3%, which is exceptional. In
2020, the 911SC was sold to the third owner in Santa Barbara,
California, and was serviced by Schneider AutoHaus in Santa
Barbara, California.
