1946 Mercury Coupe This 1946 Mercury Coupe is a solid, classic
postwar cruiser that runs and drives great and retains its vintage
character with tasteful mechanical updates. Power comes from a
rebuilt flathead V8, using a 1953 Ford engine, fully dressed and
paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. The exhaust features
glass packs, giving it the right period sound. The car has received
a 12-volt conversion and a fully rebuilt brake system, improving
reliability and drivability. It rides on wide whitewall tires
mounted on painted steel wheels with stainless Mercury hubcaps and
trim rings. Inside, the car features new upholstery, a stock dash,
and stock steering wheel. The horn works and is loud. Exterior
details include metal factory fender skirts, good chrome bumpers,
spot lamps (dummy), and extra NOS side trim included. Glass is good
overall; the driver-side window is cracked, but a new replacement
window is included in the box. The paint appears largely stock with
lacquer checking, presenting as a solid "10-footer" with no dents.
Overall, this is a very solid, honest Mercury coupe with great
style, sound, and presence-ready to enjoy as-is or improve further.
