This 1970 GMC K1500 Custom Pickup is a very nice, very clean truck
that spent its life in the Pacific NW. The last owner did a lot to
make this not only a good looking truck, but also a nice driving
truck. This was not a full frame-off restoration but there was a a
lot done to this K1500. The body is super clean and straight. It
was professionally repainted in its original color of Dark Bronze
and the paint looks excellent. It received all new
weatherstripping. The bed was redone with oak and stainless strips.
The original chrome and trim is still nice. The underside of this
truck is very nice. They welded n new rockers on both sides, which
is common for this era of truck. They also replaced some metal from
the driver floor where it was getting soft. When completed they
painted and detailed the underside.
The interior was restored with new custom seat upholstery, new
vinyl floor mat, new steering wheel, new dash, and new dash bezel.
It also received an updated radio. It has factory deluxe door
panels in great condition. The headlights, taillights, brakelights,
and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. The heat,
horn, and windshield wipers are also working. It is a really nice
and clean interior but also basic.
Mechanically this truck is great and it runs and drives wonderful.
The engine is the 5.7L 350 V8 that runs strong with no issues or
red flags that we found. It was rebuilt at some point but we do not
have the receipt or know how many miles since. It has a mild cam,
Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock 4 Barrel Carb, new starter,
new alternator, new radiator, new fuel pump, HEI distributor, and
dual exhaust. It has a Turbo 350 Automatic transmission that shifts
great. It is mated to the np205 transfer case and the 4WD works
like it should. The rear axle is a 12 Bolt with 3.73 gears. The
front axle is a Dana 44 with 3.73 gears. The Factory Rallye Wheels
were refurbished and look excellent. They added All Terrain tires
size 265/75/15. Other new parts include upper and lower ball
joints, steering tie rods, belts and hoses, new wiring harness, new
engine and transmission mounts, new body mounts, and the brakes
were completely gone through with new parts added where needed.
