For Sale: 1953 Cadillac Series 62 in Portland, Oregon

Vehicle Description

1953 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible

Beautiful Alpine white shiny exterior paint with no orange peel, scratches or dents. Gorgeous burgundy leather interior with no rips or tares. Black convertible top is in great shape. Trunk interior is in excellent shape. I had the both the trunk and hood “V” emblems re gold plated and clear coated and are in perfect shape. Entire hydraulic system works excellent for the power hydraulic convertible top and hydraulic electric windows.

Cadillac is optioned with power steering, power brakes and optional spot light drivers side rear view mirror. The car has the factory “Autronic Eye” that automatically dims the headlights from approaching cars.

I had the transmission completely rebuilt from an old school Transmission shop and it shifts perfectly. The engine has been upgraded to a factory 1956 365 cubic inch Cadillac V8 engine from a past owner. Back in the 1950’s, several 1953 Cadillac owners swapped out the engines for the more desirable higher horsepower 365 engine. Many of the engines came from low mileage ambulances and hearses.

I replaced the entire exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds on back with new exhaust pipes, resonators and mufflers. The exhaust is vented out of the rear bumper properly as it should.

I purchased brand new Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and mounted the wheels with Diamond Back steel belted white wall radial tires. The tires have less than 500 miles on them. The car will come with the original burgundy painted steel wheels and bias ply tires that were on the car when I purchased the vehicle.

The undercarriage is solid with only some light surface rust on some areas. In the state of Oregon, the roads are NOT salted in the winter time. I purchased the car 21 years ago from a United Airlines Captain who was retiring at the time.

The Cadillac earned a second place winner trophy at the Portland Roadster Show for Best Restored Convertible.

Baseball hall of fame Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees bought 2 white 1953 Cadillac convertibles for himself and his wife Marilyn Monroe.

The car drives excellent and receives a lot of attention. If you are looking for an unmolested stock nice original appearing Cadillac convertible, then this is one cool Cadillac worth considering.

Thank you for checking out this wonderful car.
