The second-generation Chevrolet Camaro has surged in popularity, and the 1970 Camaro RS stands at the very top of the desirability list. As the first year of the second-generation Camaro, the 1970 model introduced a longer, lower, wider stance and a more refined driving experience. Among collectors and enthusiasts, the split bumper Rally Sport (RS) models are considered the most iconic and valuable. Known as “Silver Star,” this stunning 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS LS3 Restomod is one of the cleanest, most user-friendly custom Camaros ever offered from the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.

According to the original VIN and build sheet, this Camaro was built at the Van Nuys, California assembly plant and originally finished in Green Mist Metallic with a black interior, 350 V8 engine, and 4-speed manual transmission. Factory options included air conditioning, making it a well-equipped example from new. The original build sheet and Chevrolet pre-delivery inspection documents are included, further confirming its authenticity and California history.
This Camaro spent its life in California before finding its way to Steve’s Hot Rods and Customs in Fresno, California, where the vision was to create a no-expense-spared Restomod that retained classic muscle car styling while delivering modern performance, comfort, and reliability. The professional restoration was completed in 2020, with extensive documentation and receipts included. Over the next five years, the car was carefully enjoyed and accumulated just 2,350 miles. MS CLASSIC CARS acquired the vehicle in November 2025 and invested over $10,000 in additional service and refinement, making January 2026 the first time it has been publicly offered for sale.
The exterior of this 1970 Camaro RS is breathtaking. Retaining its original sheet metal, the body was media blasted to bare metal and painstakingly refined to achieve laser-straight panels and exceptional gap alignment. The side marker lights were shaved for a cleaner appearance, and mini tubs were added to accommodate wider rear wheels. Finished in Platinum Silver custom paint, the paintwork alone exceeded $29,000 and was recently detailed to a mirror-like finish. Iconic split bumpers, painted bullet mirrors, front and rear spoilers, LED lighting, and all-new tinted glass complete the aggressive yet refined look. The stance is dialed in perfectly with Budnik G-Series V2 wheels, sized 18” front and 19” rear, wrapped in Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 performance tires.
The interior of this 1970 Camaro Restomod is both luxurious and functional. Professionally upholstered in two-tone gray genuine leather, every surface was carefully designed for comfort and visual impact. Features include a custom dash with Autometer Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges, Vintage Air conditioning, carbon fiber accents, Sony touchscreen stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, premium audio components, power windows, billet controls, and a custom center console. Modern seating with seat belts, plush carpeting, and a fully upholstered trunk with relocated battery ensure this Camaro is as comfortable as it is show-worthy.
Under the hood sits a GM Performance LS3 376ci V8, rated at 430 horsepower, paired with a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission. This setup delivers modern supercar performance with classic muscle car soul. The engine bay is fully smoothed and detailed with carbon fiber components, Vintage Air accessories, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, and stainless exhaust. Dyno-tested on a Mustang dynamometer, the car produced 404 horsepower at the rear wheels, translating to roughly 500 horsepower at the crank.
The undercarriage is equally impressive, featuring a Speed Tech Performance Road Assault suspension, Viking coilovers, power rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and a Ford 9-inch posi rear end with 3.70 gears. Every system was upgraded for handling, braking, and reliability.
This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS LS3 “Silver Star” represents the ultimate blend of classic split-bumper style, modern performance, and professional craftsmanship—making it one of the finest second-generation Camaro builds available today.
