Few vehicles in the history of the autoverse will turn heads faster
than a well-executed, fully restored classic pickup truck with a
few key upgrades. While in the GM realm, 1957 is typically
dominated by the iconic Bel Air, this 1957 Chevrolet 3100 makes a
strong case that even in truck form, this model year was something
special across the Chevy lineup. Fully repainted in this
eye-catching bright red, this lowered short-bed truck is drop-dead
gorgeous from any angle.
Inside, we find a spectacularly well-done, fully restored, and
updated grey interior. A pair of late-model, supportive bucket
seats is separated by an aftermarket center console, complete with
cupholders and storage. armrest and cupholders. A power-assisted,
red-rimmed steering wheel pairs with the red carpeting, sitting
just ahead of an Auto Meter white-faced gauge cluster featuring a
big 120-mph speedometer, while fuel, water temperature, volts, and
oil pressure are efficiently displayed within the chrome V-shaped
bezel. An AM/FM/AUX stereo, along with air conditioning offer some
modern conveniences, much improved by modern technology.
Under that expansive steel hood, we find a massive 350 cubic-inch
V-8 engine. With its primer orange block, powder-coated Chevrolet
valve covers, and matching air cleaner, this small block looks
fantastic between those flared fenders. Fed by a single Demon
four-barrel carburetor and aluminum intake manifold, spent gases
are expelled through a true dual exhaust with chambered mufflers.
That power is routed through a TH350 three-speed automatic
transmission before heading out to a 12-bolt rear end that
transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of polished
18-inch American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels shod in 225/50R-18
Goodyear Eagle Sport tires.

This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 rides on a custom front-end suspension
with coilovers and a sway bar, while the factory-style rear has
been lowered to give the truck a perfectly aggressive stance. Power
brakes, highlighted by a set of front discs, are employed to scrub
off speed at a moment's notice. If you've always wanted a nicely
