The car looks absolutely stunning, I was told by the owner it was repainted in recent years with new decals, and the finish quality shows, factory paint wasn't the best, you probably know that, it presents now scratch and dent free base coat/clear coat finish. Panels appear all original, quarters show factory pinch welds and floor pans red oxide primer with some spots with ziebart we assume from the dealer as many, which protected the car from corrosion, no visible rust anywhere that we can see.
The original factory Deluxe Velour presents beautifully for an original and tells the story. The dash is perfect with no cracks, and the gold bezel is in magnificent shape. Fully loaded with power windows , locks, tilt, rear defogger and RARE rear seat console! Radio Delete as you see on build sheet, the music comes from the exhaust! Odometer shows 38k and change, and it honestly feels like even less. It starts on the first crank, and it purrs like a kitten.
For those not familiar with Y82 Special Edition values, please do your homework, these are among the most collectible late 70s Trans Ams, famously associated with the Smokey and the Bandit era that helped make these cars iconic. 4 speed cars are especially hard to find, with only 2,699 produced out of nearly 70,000 Trans Ams made that year.
