The 1929 Packard Limousine is a large, luxurious automobile that
was produced during the Great Depression. During that timeframe,
they were considered a top-of-the-line status symbol - this
automobile had star power.
Meticulous Restoration -
This elegant 1929 Packard Model 640 Limousine is virtually
better-than-new and runs down the road gracefully. The meticulous
restoration, said to be frame-off, left nothing to chance and is
stunning. The vintage limousine body was beautifully refinished in
Packard Black. All chrome and stainless, including the 'Flying
Goddess of Speed' radiator ornament, is outstanding. Exterior
accents include full running boards, dual fender-mounted spare
tires, chrome mirrors and meticulous pin stripping. A pair of
adjustable spotlights are mounted on the front cowl and factory 20"
steel wheels with trim rings are fitted with period-correct
whitewall bias-ply tires. There is a handsome padded vinyl roof
with landau bars and a rear-mounted carrier with classic luggage
trunk. The interior has been restored to a like-original
appearance. The front seat is black leather, and the rear passenger
compartment is correctly upholstered in wool broadcloth. A handsome
walnut dashboard is fitted with original gauges and the curved
glass 'privacy divider' window with roll-up center glass functions
flawlessly. There is also an 'intercom' system between the
driver/passenger compartment with microphone and speaker. The
entire interior of this classic Packard is simply
extraordinary.
Packard Straight-Eight Power -
The big Packard is powered by what is believed to be the original
Packard 385ci 'Straight-Eight' flathead engine that has been
completely rebuilt. This flathead provides over 100 unleashed
horsepower and is backed by a non-synchronized 3-speed manual
transmission. The undercarriage looks as good as the top side,
featuring a semi-elliptical leaf spring suspension and 4-wheel
Bendix mechanical drums brakes.
This stately Packard Model 640 Limousine is more than ready for
your next hometown parade or summer cruise-in.
