Formerly Owned by Jacques Villeneuve Son of Legendary Ferrari Driver Gilles Villeneuve
This 1969 Mustang Boss 429 is a genuine and documented example, previously owned by 1997 Formula One World Champion and 1995 Indianapolis 500 winner Jacques Villeneuve. Jacques Villeneuve followed the racing legacy of his father, legendary Ferrari driver Gilles Villeneuve, becoming one of the most successful Canadian drivers in motorsport history.
Jacques has always had a strong appreciation for American muscle cars, a passion shared with his father. He acquired this Boss 429 in 2005 as part of his personal collection. This car represents a unique blend of American motorsport engineering and elite international racing heritage.
This Boss 429 presents today as a very honest driver-quality car, not an over-restored showpiece. It is a true Boss 429 that looks right, drives right, and can be enjoyed as intended.
The car was originally factory-finished in Candyapple Red and was later repainted in Royal Maroon at Jacques Villeneuve’s request. At the same time, he added a period-correct rear spoiler and rear window valance, enhancing the car’s already aggressive appearance.
The car presents very well overall. The paint shows nicely, with minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with a car that has been driven and enjoyed rather than stored away. The body is straight and solid, with good overall panel fit throughout.
The undercarriage is clean and well-presented, showing no signs of abuse. The stance is aggressive and period-correct, giving the car the unmistakable presence that defines the Boss 429.
All exterior trim, glass, and brightwork are in good driver-quality condition.
The interior features the factory Luxury Interior Package, including black Comfortweave high-back bucket seats. The interior presents very well, offering a clean, correct, and comfortable driving environment.
The dashboard, gauges, and controls are intact and functional. The car retains its factory-style interior layout, maintaining the original Boss 429 character.
Under the hood sits a correctly configured Boss 429 engine, featuring a factory-authorized replacement block installed under warranty early in the car’s life. While not the original assembly-line block, it remains a true Boss 429 engine built to correct specifications. The cylinder heads, intake manifold, carburetor, and exhaust manifolds are original to the car.
Power is delivered through a close-ratio four-speed manual transmission, paired with an Equa-Lock rear differential. The engine runs strong, pulls hard, and performs exactly as a Boss 429 should.
This Mustang is equipped with factory-style suspension components, providing a raw and engaging driving experience while maintaining confident road manners.
The braking system delivers solid and predictable stopping power, consistent with the Boss 429’s performance-oriented design.
The car rides on original 15'' wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/A, giving it an aggressive yet authentic appearance.
The electrical system is intact, with all essential components functioning properly.
