Factory-commissioned 1939 Lincoln Model K Brunn Convertible Coupe Victoria — one of only two built for exhibition purposes associated with the 1939 New York World’s Fair and California State Fair.
The 1939 New York World’s Fair represented a pivotal moment in American industrial and design history, with Ford Motor Company presenting its vision of innovation and progress through extensive displays in the Ford pavilion in the Transportation Zone. Lincoln automobiles were positioned as the pinnacle of American luxury and engineering. Select custom-bodied cars were prepared for exhibition to reflect that standard.
These Brunn-bodied Convertible Victorias were among those created to represent Lincoln’s highest level of craftsmanship. The custom coachwork was built by Brunn & Company of Buffalo, New York, one of the premier American coach builders of the Classic Era, known for their refined designs and limited production.
The 1939 model year stands as one of the final pre-war expressions of American luxury automobiles before wartime production changes altered the industry. Automobiles of this caliber were produced without regard to cost and served as flagship representations of their respective manufacturers.
Examples of this rarity and historical context are seldom offered, particularly those retaining their identity and long-term enthusiast ownership.
