1939 LaSalle Series 50 2-to-4 passenger coupe. This vintage
automobile, a close cousin to Cadillac, features a 322 cubic inch
L-head V8 engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission on the
steering column, affectionately known as a "three on the tree." The
car's original paint color was marble head gray. Today it is
painted in a similar color with a two-tone color scheme,
complemented by gleaming chrome bumpers, brightwork, and a
distinctive front grille. The vintage steel wheels with wide
whitewall bias-ply tires maintain the car's authentic
period-correct appearance. Only 3,531 units of this model were
produced in 1939, making it a rare find. The interior is finished
with gray cloth upholstery, a front bench seat accommodating two
passengers with auxiliary rear seats folding up or down to allow
seating for up to four. The rear side windows feature a vent
function that slides open. This 1939 LaSalle does not have turn
signals on it, there are however some included. The coolant system
has been recently serviced, and electrical components including the
horn, blower motor, and many gauges function well. The original
radio is intact but has not been powered up. Under the hood, the
L-head V8 runs smoothly and quietly. On the road-smooth, quiet, and
comfortable, with responsive clutch and shifting.
