To many, the early first-generation Mustang in fastback
configuration represents the most aesthetically pleasing iteration
of the model ever created. This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback makes a
pretty strong case for that sentiment. Dressed in Dark Moss Green
paint with an outstanding shine, along with a full complement of
chrome that really shows nicely, this is one seriously optimized
Pony. A front chin spoiler combines with a set of very sharp side
mirrors to add some aftermarket distinction and, cruising on a set
of staggered 17"/18" American Racing wheels, this is a classic you
can't help but stare at in admiration.
As you climb inside and lower yourself into the driver's seat,
you'll be surrounded by an interior that shows a great mix of
vintage aesthetics and well-chosen modifications. The pair of
low-backed bucket seats are clad in black vinyl and straddle a
custom center console. Alcantara door panels add yet another
distinctive touch and tie in well with the dash area, where you'll
find a full complement of functional factory gauges in the
instrument cluster. An added Alpine AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary
port will afford you plenty of audio options.
This singular Mustang is every bit as much about performance as it
is sheer aesthetics. It's powered by a period-correct
302-cubic-inch V8 that's fed by a four-barrel Holley carburetor
with an electric choke and, with a performance cam added to the
mix, the power at your disposal becomes evident right away. The
engine pairs with a 5-speed manual Tremec transmission that puts
control of its considerable output in the hands of the driver. Long
tube headers minimize performance-sapping back-pressure, while a
dual exhaust that terminates in a pair of Super Turbo mufflers adds
a deep, mellow note you'll never get tired of hearing. Power rack
and pinion steering combines with four-wheel power disc brakes that
feature slotted and drilled rotors to make this Pony an absolute
pleasure to drive, and subframe connectors and traction bars
enhance its structural rigidity and give it a world-class grip on
the asphalt.
