For Sale: 1959 Chevrolet C60 in Concord, North Carolina
You don't often hear or read the term "restomod" paired with a
vintage workhorse, but for this 1959 Chevrolet C60 Restomod Dually,
it's a thoroughly well-earned classification. Only a little more
than 2500 miles past a thorough, frame-off restoration, this
classic features substantially enhanced power, as well as some
impressive mechanical upgrades that afford it a drivability rarely
found in its automotive segment. Now wearing new cabin glass and a
fresh tan and white paint scheme draped over its original cab, this
Chevy has a definite "one-off" aesthetic sensibility that
reinforces the notion you just won't come across one of its kind
very often, if ever. Yep. Armed with a new, contrasting black flat
bed, and a set of airhorns mounted on top of the cab to announce
its presence, this stout Chevy really cuts quite a figure.
Climb in, and you'll be surrounded by an interior that will likely
defy your expectations. This driving environment is downright
impressive, with a bench seat that shows only the slightest of wear
and a freshly painted dash that's color-matched to the outside and
offers an array of clear, easily readable aftermarket gauges inside
the distinctive, diamond-shaped instrument cluster. You'll have no
trouble attracting the attention of fellow motorists while on the
road in this classic, as there are pull cables for the air horn
system for both driver and passenger mounted inside.
To merely describe this Chevy as "powerful" would be an
understatement. It's equipped with a 5.9-liter inline,
turbocharged, 12-valve Cummins diesel engine that pairs with a
4-speed automatic Allison transmission, and the torque this engine
packs makes it feel like you could pull a house off of its
foundation if you chose to. The exhaust system, which terminates in
a Magnaflow muffler, features a stack-style exhaust that adds yet
another great visual touch. A Dana 80 rear end sits in back, so
you'll have no worries that this Chevy's stump-pulling torque will
have any unintended consequences, and a power steering cooler teams
with an upgraded aluminum radiator to keep fluids from exceeding
their optimum temperatures. Armed with both power steering and
four-wheel power brakes, this C60 is an easy driver with a ton of
power and unusually good road manners.
