"Most Dynasty LE owners could afford to pay a lot more for a luxury
sized six passenger automobile, but why should they? Dynasty LE
offers an uncompromising ride, room, and state of the art
features." This from the 1993 sales brochure and part of those
features included a dealer installed mobile phone, while air
conditioning was added with no extra charge and remote keyless
entry was part of the optional Security Package.
For consignment, a 1993 Dodge Dynasty LE sedan, a two owner car
with a title verified 9,332 actual miles. We'd be surprised if this
isn't the lowest mileage Dynasty in the country, and you might be
surprised that there's interest in cars like this, especially for
those who grew up in one and never thought they'd see the backseat
of a Dynasty again!
Exterior
Two stage Black Cherry covers this little luxury car in gleaming
fashion while the K-car roots are evident in the chrome grille with
the Dodge pentastar and composite headlights for a more modern look
in 1993, and a slight rise to the hood that is vaguely
Lincoln-esque. The use of body colored bumper covers with trim was
also the trend, moving swiftly afar from chrome. Dodge stuck with
the square profile here and right angles abound with the side being
enhanced by a double pinstripe and wheel opening trim that
intersects with side molding. The long horizontal tail lights meet
at a red reflective center plate that creates a handsome lightbar
under a flat deck lid and completely vertical rear window. 14-inch
wheels wear wire wheel covers and 195/75R14 tires with an early
2024 date code. The only imperfections are one area of bubbling
under the paint and a few runs in the clear coat on the rockers.
Our consignor states a five year ceramic coating has recently been
applied.
Interior
Molded plastics and tufted velour insert on the door panels is
enhanced with faux wood trim pieces and switchgear plates that
conjure up the vibe of a comfortable den. Courtesy lights are on
all four doors along with carpeted bottom panels and it all looks
showroom fresh. That trend continues on the puffy split bench
seats, also in red velour and equipped with a pull down center
armrest. The center bench also has a tuckaway armrest that allows a
third person to occupy the middle. The color pattern continues on
the steering wheel and dash where square gauges occupy the
instrument cluster surrounded by faux wood plastic trim in a red
dashboard. An AM/FM/Cassette radio is in the center and occupants
are afforded some storage under the dash. Plush red carpet covers
the floor in toe deep goodness, protected by period rubber mats
that, naturally, are red. The felt headliner, visors, and light
fixture are all in good shape, while the trunk is lined with gray
cloth panels and has likely never been used.
Drivetrain
Showing some general patina, the engine bay houses a 3.3 liter V6,
fuel injected and rated at 147 horsepower. An UltraDrive A604 41TE
4-speed automatic transmission is under foot and keeps power in the
front with 3.61 gears. Our consignor informs us that the fuel
injectors have new O-rings and the intake manifold a new
gasket.
Undercarriage
Underneath, the passage of time has done little to alter the
components other than some oxidation and surface rust, which is
typical. There are no leaks and no grease or dirt build ups
anywhere. Suspension consists of Macpherson struts in the front and
coil springs in the back. A single exhaust wears its original
muffler and exits in the back via a low key tailpipe. Power brakes
are onboard with discs in front and drums in the back.
Drive-Ability
What's not to love here? A showroom fresh interior takes you right
back to 1993 when we were all a bit younger! The 3.3 comes to life
without hesitation and the car tracks straight, absorbs road
imperfections with luxury level softness, and handles well,
especially on these fresh tires. No car is equipped with this seat
material anymore, and it has a unique, pillowy softness to it that
makes this a relaxing car to drive. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
You don't have to have a car museum to buy this pristine relic from
1993, but it wouldn't hurt! They were common in the day and used
up, but this one was tucked away and speaks for a generation of
cars you almost never see, even at Radwood events. Don't dodge the
potential collectability of this car, our Car Specialists are
standing by!
